The chocolate is gross but the family totally sold out on all their principles. Disgusting.

Wouldn't buy that shite if you paid me.

Presumably you're an adult and can therefore buy, or not, whatever you like for whatever reasons you like.

I'm not sure reasonable or unreasonable comes into it.

BigFatLiar · 16/11/2023 22:19

Why would I pay you? Different strokes for different folks. I don't mind Cadbury's, I'm quite happy with tesco's cheap chocolate or lidl's. We all have different tastes. (I even like sprouts).

sobercuriouskind · 16/11/2023 22:19

Yabu

Kitkat1523 · 16/11/2023 22:21

I like cadburys

HappyMavis · 16/11/2023 22:22

Nah it's fine. Why do you care - did the family disown you?

StarDolphins · 16/11/2023 22:22

I like it! Not as nice as Lindt balls but I won’t say no to a big box of Cadburys heroes!

Musomama1 · 16/11/2023 22:22

But I would pay very good money for the long forgotten pocket-pack dairy milk fingers. 90s memories. They were amazing.

Mamato29192 · 16/11/2023 22:22

That's your opinion. I love it

Lolaandbehold · 16/11/2023 22:24

I think they added anti melt agent to Cadbury’s Dairy Milk some years ago. They have not done so in Ireland and the Dairy Milk in Ireland is to die for.

JudyGemstone · 16/11/2023 22:25

YANBU it’s shit.

for cheap chocolate Ritter sport is the best no contest

Caswallonthefox · 16/11/2023 22:29

Cadburys chocolate is vile.
It has palm oil in it now which makes it really greasy.
They've also decreased the size of every product they make. Creme eggs are a prime example, when I was a kid they were the size of a large chicken egg now, not so much. Curly wurlys were at least a foot long now, not so much.
Cadburys is not "real" chocolate. If it was so awesome, why are they forever trying to seel it so cheap?

2chocolateoranges · 16/11/2023 22:31

I love a Cadburys caramel! A little slice of heaven.

It might be a bit better but it's really not to die for.

(I still eat it tho 🫣)

You are not wrong about the taste of it now.

Used to be the BEST chocolate, but it really is dire now, which is really sad.

However, you are wrong about the family.
They set up so many trusts which STILL support all sorts of people today.
The legacy they have left in and around South West Birmingham is phenomenal. Can't be stated loudly enough.
They were very cleaver in the way they have improved people's lives, not just at the time, but for perpetuity.
They didn't sell out at all.

I need chocolate now

fireworksmyass · 16/11/2023 22:34

I don't think any chocolate taste that good anymore

RampantIvy · 16/11/2023 22:34

I'm not a fan of Cadburys chocolate. It is too sweet and not chocolatey enough.

Anonymouseposter · 16/11/2023 22:35

What do you think the family have done? How have they sold out?

coldcallerbaiter · 16/11/2023 22:37

Too sweet, has after taste, wouldn’t waste calories on it

vodkaredbullgirl · 16/11/2023 22:37

Have you been sacked OP

fancyfrogs · 16/11/2023 22:38

I like it

Fifiesta · 16/11/2023 22:39

I loved it as a child, and children generally love Christmas.
So move on, nothing to see here…

Nonplusultra · 16/11/2023 22:44

Whatever they have in it nowadays doesn’t agree with me and affects my, er, digestion. I would love to taste a 1980s bar again though, back when they claimed there was a glass and a half of milk in every bar. Nowadays it’s a glass and a half and no mention what of.

Really interesting. Thank you. Are there any of the family still involved in this part of the venture.

Google doesn’t yield much.
