I read an article in the Mail on Monday about how Giles Coren abused his neighbour who is the mother of an autistic child by pretending to be a delivery driver to gain access to her house in a row about parking. I am the mother of an ASD child and would divorce my husband if he behaved like this. I can’t believe someone who is employed by the BBC has so little control over himself. No wonder he was issued with a police caution. His poor neighbour.

He is awful. He is angry, nasty, vulgar, pompous and egotistical. I really can't stand him. He's had a privilidged upbringing and is only in the public eye because of his Daddy.

He can't be that stupid as he got a first at Oxford which makes his obnoxious behaviour even worse.

Many perfectly nice people have vile siblings.

You see I find this interesting as really like Esther.

Don't shoot me but his writing in The Times is often very funny. I don't think he's talentless at all or it's all just nepotism.

But some of the stuff he does is very odd! Like this parking thing and writing about wanking in the shower when his kids are in the room. Or that poor journalist who died.

He shouldn't be employed by the BBC

I like Victoria and watch her on OC. I wouldn't be happy to fine out she's a nasty piece of work like her brother.

I think he’s average TBH. He used to do some OK TV shows. His food reviews are nothing special. But he’s really lost the plot in the last few years. He had a few really vicious spats on Twitter (with an old friend of his dad, in one case). He used a sock account to direct anti-Semitic abuse at himself. There was that business with Dawn Foster. He seems to spend most of his life these days demented with rage.

WHAT???

It will be interesting to see how this affects his work. Unfortunately nepotism and cronyism is alive and kicking especially in media and especially with the old Oxbridge brigade.

I stopped reading his column in The Times some years ago after he tweeted vile things about a journalist he had an issue with , following her death. I am amazed he still gets work and hoped The Times would sack him but unfortunately not. He clearly has anger management issues and some very strange ideas about what constitutes acceptable behaviour. Vile individual.

He’s the biggest knob end going, I don’t understand how his family aren’t ashamed of him.

His articles spouting all kinds of awfulness are supposed to be humorous and tongue in cheek, but as time goes on I wonder if he actually does have those beliefs.
One can assume his wife is perfectly happy being married to such a person given she's still with him.
As for his sister, I love Only Connect but who knows what she's really like, she might be lovely or not, how can you tell from her publicly presented persona.

I think he has severe anger management issues and needs immediate help. Have thought so ever since he wrote an unhinged rant to the subs at the Times ( I think) which everybody thought was funny, but I thought was seriously deranged. Then there was the time he created a fake Polish Twitter account to send antisemitic messages to his critics and defend his wife... He is bananas.

I think he’s recently cut back on his restaurant reviewing, officially due to being self-conscious about his weight, but looking at what else is going on, it seems more serious than that. Looks like he may have mental health/drug/alcohol problems.

He’s deeply unpleasant and seems extremely entitled. I suspect a psychopath too, anyone who puts the Mother of a disabled child in a position like that is incapable of empathy.

The row was about a parking dispute. I’ve driven in London as my cousin lives there and know how competitive it is to find parking in residential areas. But to threaten to kill someone over this seems so extreme. I don’t know much about him, but found him very sneering and smug in that grand hotels programme. The young blond guy that replaced him seems much nicer though.

I think he is genuinely irredeemably awful. I think I realised that when he talked about having a sexy holiday with his toddler daughter. There’s something really wrong with him in terms of understanding acceptable behaviour, really a bit sociopathic.

I thought similar. I couldn't be married to someone like that.

I'm fairly sure his wife knew he was a complete cunt when she married him, and she obviously found that attractive, so I've zero sympathy for her. Dreadful pair.
