I would divorce my husband if he behaved like Giles Coren did

I read an article in the Mail on Monday about how Giles Coren abused his neighbour who is the mother of an autistic child by pretending to be a delivery driver to gain access to her house in a row about parking. I am the mother of an ASD child and would divorce my husband if he behaved like this. I can’t believe someone who is employed by the BBC has so little control over himself. No wonder he was issued with a police caution. His poor neighbour.

His wife wrote a blog about how this is untrue. I’ve no idea if he is a decent guy or a good husband but she seems happy with him and they appear to have a decent lifestyle. Plenty of people I would not want to be married to who are happily coupled. You have no idea what he is like outside of fabricated (social)media drama, so yes YABU.

Is it fabricated if it’s his own words and behaviour, writ large for the whole world to see?

I work in the media.
I dislike aging men who party like students, so I find GC and Alexander Armstrong pretty pathetic. I liked Esther, though I’ve only met her once. I’ve worked with DM and like him. I’ve met VCM in several different environments and she’s pleasant.

Two words spring to mind. ‘Brat’ and ‘spoiled’. If you’ve never had to struggle for what you have, you end up believing your privilege is a right. And when real life, being what it is, smacks you with evidence of the fragility of your privilege (because being alpha is a very precarious state indeed, especially when undeserved) you end up constantly insecure, and not uncommonly, constantly angry. Substance misuse is as serious a problem for the rich as it is for the deprived.

Also, people like him need, like working dogs, to be kept busy. They are dangerous when under-occupied.

He’s scum. He put a tweet out literally laughing when a brilliant vibrant young journalist Dawn Foster died, because she’d mildly criticised him some time before. I still feel shocked by it.

He is clearly unhinged or an addict of some kind. That guy who knew his dad, that exchange was bizarre. It's a wonder he didn't sue him.

On that hotel programme he was insufferably smug. So glad he lost that gig. I don't like his sister either.

I was going to say this too. It was Esther who (accidentally) parked in the parking space for example - so while I haven’t read the DM article, I know it’s not 100% fact.

It says he's accepted the caution which means he admits it is true so I don't know what is manufactured about it.
