Surrogacy Concern broke the news on Friday night. I can’t actually believe it.

Over a month to come, the Scottish Govt are asking for egg and sperm donors as young as 18 to come forward in a series of targeted ads on social media and the radio. They’ve expanded IVF provision and - in their own words - have a supply and demand issue.

I’d heard of fertility clinics advertising (bad enough in my view) but for a national Govt to do this to women is staggering. Women can die from complications arising from OHSS, which can be caused by egg donation. A British woman died in 2006 as a result.

The ads don’t mention these risks; it’s all “be kind” “do something amazing”. I cannot actually believe a Govt could be this stupid. They’ve only just apologised for forced adoption!

I was sexually assaulted by two older boys in a mixed primary school changing room. I didn't know their names because they weren't in my class or even my year. They were able to assault me because they could just walk right in there unchallenged. They didn't have to spend time grooming me and fooling me into a false sense of safety.

As it happens I don't have much faith in HM prison service, but that picture says derived from, with no indication of the source of the graphic. What is the source of the graphic, and do you have a direct link to such data from the prison service?

I'm sorry for what happened to you but that assertion is absolutely absurd. The vast majority of sexual assaults have always been committed by close family members and others known to the victim (teachers, religious leaders, bosses, colleagues, family friends.) Single sex toilets and prisons have existed as long as such facilities have existed, they are hardly some hard won victory of the TERFs.

You don't trust the Govt agency that looks after and knows about every prisoner in the UK to know what prisoners are in for and what their sex is? WTF?

Re egg donation: egg donation, rape, and gender ideology are related by all being forms of exploitation of women. They are linked.

I suspect the popularity of home DNA testing would've made sperm donation rates freefall, even if the law change in 06 hadn't. Clearly part of the rationale for the bulk of the men who used to do it was the lack of comebacks. Now, any man who does it will know that a biological child could get in touch at any time. I can't see how any advertising campaign is going to do much to address that.

But how 'convenient' that you have in the prison service. Data is made up of individual stories. You know that, you're being disingenuous. Many of those links contain actual police and judge reports. Now you said the claim women are in danger is 'baseless'. The data is there, you, are way off base. Now you want to go back to the original topic because you never expected evidence that shows males being males. On other forums like twitter, they either block you immediately when you give them data (that they never expected) or say'but but but.... that's individual stories'. It's a tired old tactic for someone who can't admit they're wrong that everything we warned was going to happen (but told it 'would never happen' has happened. Because males are dangerous to females. No matter how they identify.

Single-sex spaces have existed for a long time because women have fought for them long before the term "feminist" was even coined. Women have fought for them and the decent men amongst our lawmakers have granted them because they knew what some men would do to women.

The majority of assaults may well be on someone known to the victim, however if even 1 (one) male stranger in a female facility attacks a woman (and as I showed, numerous have), that is one too many.
