To think that most women don't even have high body counts?

I read this article in the guardian this morning https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/nov/03/when-andrew-tate-and-the-online-manboys-obsess-over-a-bodycount-girls-you-know-what-to-do which is a reaction to the current misogynistic male obsession with a woman's body count i.e. how many men she has slept with. Firstly I agree with the article that it is a totally misogynistic trope and not to be tolerated. But Secondly I wonder to myself, who are all these women with large "body counts"?

Most women I know like myself (now in my early 30's) would have dated and had boyfriend in their teens which mostly they did not have sex with then maybe a boyfriend or two they did sleep with before finally meeting the man they are now married to at some point during university or early 20's.

Most women I know were not out clubbing every week, meeting and sleeping with different men every week or month as the paranoid fantasies of these incel men say but were more likely to be tucked up at home with their long term boyfriends and husbands having a nice meal and watching box sets or even playing scrabble. Even the single women I still know will mostly socialise together at home with going out being the odd time rather than it being a bit never ending smorgasbord of hot men and sex!

Do any of these men actually know any women or do they just believe the absolute drivel they read online by shady men who are ultimately trying to sell them a product by capitalising their insecurity and paranoia?

Please note if there are women out their having a whale of a time having tons of sex then more power to them absolutely no judgement from me. The point of my post it that it seems in no way to me the norm for most women.

When Andrew Tate and the online manboys obsess over a ‘bodycount’, girls, you know what to do | Van Badham

Tate’s comments that he rejects women who have slept with more than three men betrays a screaming admission of insecurity and immaturity

The writer has obviously been reading Mumsnet.

Im so glad my GF never went to uni, Has never been abroad before

Some people manage to go to uni and go abroad without being promiscuous, you know. Amazingly.

People are not clones.

Your fixation on those things and your use of the phrase wife up highlights to me that you've been captured by the red pill and incel movement.

The only good thing that can be said is that you're currently not a hypocrite.

PaperDoIIs · 09/11/2023 18:22

My GF is very rare

The imaginary ones always are.

Hamburger233 · 09/11/2023 18:24

lots of these women shag about in thier teens-20s, then in thier 30s cant find a man to marry and start a family with

Again ... This has incel and red pill written all over it.

I can't think of any of the woman I know who had lots of relationships and one night stands who aren't partnered up, with kids.

Incels and red pillers hate that because they love the idea that women get punished for "promiscuity" .... But, sorry to disappoint, ime they don't the vast majority of the time.

Hamburger233 · 09/11/2023 18:26

I seen

You saw.

It's bad enough being a red piller without the shit grammar too.

No one cares what you and your imaginary friends think. All of my friends who "shagged around" are now in committed relationships.

benefitsterrified · 09/11/2023 18:28

I am trying to reply to a deleted post but

What has your height got to do with anything? Do you really how misogynistic and controlling you sound?

I'm in my 50's and post-divorce I had a lot of sex. It was great fun and did me the world of good.

Now have a partner and we are exclusive - he's never asked my body count and I've never asked his. Because that's misogynistic.

benefitsterrified · 09/11/2023 18:29

Oh and I went to uni as a <whisper> divorced person, and didn't shag anyone at uni.

What the actual fuck?

OneTC · 09/11/2023 18:30

"Might be a virgin" lol

Saschka · 09/11/2023 20:08

Funny, my experience was the exact opposite. People who had men falling at their feet had no trouble finding a good husband. People who nobody wanted to shag had similar problems finding anyone who wanted to marry them. Most people were somewhere in middle.

WeeDove · 09/11/2023 20:21

I couldn't find a man to marry and I'm happy single. Not finding a husband is not some cautionary tale!

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 09/11/2023 21:10

I'd rather be single than be with a man who treats me as a lesser person because I've had plenty of sex.

I'd happily go out with someone who's shagged around but 'seen' and 'thier'? <shudder>

My daughter just showed me a YouTube called Pearl. This is an extract of what she say,

“College lowers the birth rate!!

70% of women go to college Christian’s leave not Christians!

Some surveys have put college women sleeping with 7 men a year!

The birthdate drops as we educate women!

College makes us dumber but makes us think we are smarter!

College is feminism!”

shocking that a woman said this.

The infant mortality rate also drops with increased maternal education. This isn't a phenomenon restricted to the global South- it's observed in the West, too.

In America, Pearl's own country, the same pattern has been found.

quote
Infants whose mothers received less than 12 years of education are, in some states, more than twice as likely to die as those born to college educated mothers, a new study finds.

Yep, you read that right: more than TWICE as likely

continued:
the states of Alaska, North Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia and Kentucky had the largest differences in infant mortality rates across maternal education levels. In these states, infants born to less-educated mothers were more than twice as likely to die as infants born to more-educated mothers.

Maternal education: A matter of life and death for infants?

Infants whose mothers lack a high school education are, in some states, more than twice as likely to die as those born to mothers with four years of college or more.

If educating women means fewer births but also fewer neonatal deaths, an educated woman could go through fewer pregnancies as her undereducated counterpart but have the same number of living children. This is a huge win.

It would be interesting to collect data on maternal age at first conception for different education levels because experiences in the global south are that younger first time motherhood is correlated with infant mortality, stillbirth, and obstetric fistula.

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 10/11/2023 02:10

Sadly, I can't access the actual study, but the online article says that the sociologist who conducted the research did account for maternal age as a variable; journalist says Controlling for other variables, including race and maternal age, he analyzed the association between maternal education and infant mortality across the 50 states.

While I can't verify it, it seems implausible that the journalist would just make it up!

YABU unreasonable for using the cringe term 'body count'. It's weirdo incel, misogynistic nonsense. & women shouldn't be doing this 'well I've only slept with one/few' silliness. No need to respond to every dog-whistle is there.

IloveJudgeJudy · 10/11/2023 04:55

I haven’t rtft but where are all these women that the men are sleeping with? Surely the body count must be the same? There must be some women who’ve slept with loads of men? Absolutely no judgment here, just don’t like misogyny of any kind.

Women telling other women that they 'should/shouldn't' talk about something in a certain way assumes all women should have the same values and outlook as you. I won't be told how I should or shouldn't talk about something so personal. Incels are a pathetic menace within socuety but women telling other women who they should or shouldn't live their lives/think/talk about something do my tree in as well.
