Using 'Daddy' in a sex context

JellyPopz · 20/10/2023 21:55

It's always made me uncomfortable, Daddy is what my kids call their father and not what I would ever call a lover.

Starting the 'This Morning Show' and ep 2 the PA comes in and tries to seduce her senior that she is in a relationship with using a baby voice and calling him Daddy.

I'm hoping the whole 'Yes Daddy', 'Give it to me Daddy' nods to something else and isn't fuelling a very sick fantasy?!

Sidenote: pleased to say I have never had a man who requested this.

Can someone enlighten me? It's not like this show was filmed many years ago, it's base story is around Me Too!

YANBU OP, at all

Its just plain nasty and weird
If a partner said that to Me I would walk out and leave the weirdo to be honest.

roibustea · 20/10/2023 22:45

I have a friend who sent my a picture of the spread she'd put on for her OH's big birthday; fancy breakfast table, champagne, loads of presents, decorations etc... and in the middle, a card addressed "daddy".

He has no children.

I politely did not mention it but every so often when she talks about him, i remember... 🤢

theduchessofspork · 20/10/2023 22:45

It’s more of an American thing

I can think of nothing more repulsive myself, but I think it’s more a BDSM kind of thing, than some kind of incest kink. It seems quite mainstream in US. Much more gross in the UK because we don’t so much use it like that.

girljulian · 20/10/2023 22:40

um…a “mommy kink” is very much also a thing! Just Google it.

There are a few kinks that reveal an awful lot about a person.

Daddy/Mommy kinks
Nappy wearing kinks

All vile and steeped in paedophillic fantasy.

HelpMeHelpTheKids · 20/10/2023 22:47

@AnneLovesGilbert Good question. I guess it's a word that's associated with power and domination - think men saying 'Who's the daddy?' when they succeed in something or have a sporting success or whatever.

Like I say, it's not my thing at all, but I know a therapist who specialises in sex who always laughs when people assume calling someone Daddy means they're into incest.

This has more details: metro.co.uk/2018/07/23/people-call-sexual-partners-daddy-7747622/amp/

bombastix · 20/10/2023 22:47

she's crazy like a fool/wild about Daddy Cool

AdoraBell · 20/10/2023 22:47

YANBU, it really creeps me out 🤢

hotpotlover · 20/10/2023 22:51

It's very much used in pop culture, songs ect

I never thought it had to do anything with incest/pedophilia.

It's not my thing, but I can't get worked up about it.

Yes, I didn't even touch on that. As a woman I enjoy sometimes watching pork, I go to well known websites and its an instant turnoff when there is any incest related video names, like 'step' makes it any better.

Perhaps it will be gone in 10 years. The 'sexy schoolgirl' role seems to have died a death from when I was a teen in 2000.

Watching pork 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Bedbynoon · 20/10/2023 22:56

Gross. My 16 yr old niece has a t shirt saying I love my daddy 🤢

lucya66 · 20/10/2023 22:57

Language evolves and context is everything. I’ve no problem with it just like I don’t mind when people say “baby” or “babe”.

Nowherenew · 20/10/2023 23:02

I think using a baby voice is vile and I hate when women do it.

I think calling someone daddy if you call your own father daddy is sick.

But I think calling your partner daddy, especially in the bedroom, if you don’t call your own father daddy is fine.

Everyone says things or calls their partner things in the bedroom that they wouldn’t use anywhere else.

As a PP said it’s no different to using babe/baby (in fact it’s better because you’re at least acknowledging they’re an adult, unlike baby).

spookehtooth · 20/10/2023 23:06

LuluBlakey1 · 20/10/2023 22:13

You enjoy watching 'pork'. As a vegetarian, I think that's disgusting.

This is what happens if you watch too much pork! The woman is obsessed with it. The gif isn't working, you can find a video with extract of her talking about pork

Using 'Daddy' in a sex context
BloodandGlitter · 20/10/2023 23:10

Damn didn't realise I was a pedo. Best go report myself for using a word between two consenting adults in privacy. I'll await my arrest.

DameCelia · 20/10/2023 23:13

Every time a woman refers to her sexual partner as 'Daddy', Sigmund Freud's ghost gets a little stronger.

FKATondelayo · 20/10/2023 23:14

'Daddy' is an old timey American thing isn't it?
Like "My heart belongs to Daddy" the Cole Porter song. Or "Hey little girl is your daddy home..." (I'm on Fire) / Springsteen. Like Daddy used for lover.

I think it's yuk myself but - depending on context - I don't think it's any different to using "babe/baby", "come to momma", "big boy".

FeverBeam · 20/10/2023 23:16

I've always regarded it as more of an American thing. They're also more likely to refer to a woman as 'mama', in a romantic context. Wouldn't be for me but if other people are into it that's their business. People's consensual bedroom behaviour is none of my concern.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 20/10/2023 23:20

I hate it too

Divebar2021 · 20/10/2023 23:20

I love it when someone says - “no one I know does ….. whatever it is being discussed” eg anal sex, choking, cock cages. People are into TONS of kinky stuff and I’m pretty sure they’re not chatting about it to their buddies at choir practice. I’m not bothered about calling a sexual partner this if they got off on it… rather that than golden showers thanks.

VWdieselnightmare · 20/10/2023 23:25

Yes, calling a man who isn't your father 'Daddy' has always really horrified me. I love Joni Mitchell's songs, but several are ruined by the fact that she calls the man she's singing about 'Daddy' when actually he's her boyfriend/ lover. There's something sick (in the old-fashioned sense) about it.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 20/10/2023 23:25

I get that it’s probably been a thing in kink but I find it and the fact it is now more seemingly mainstream totally rank

Traysho · 20/10/2023 23:25

Absolutely weird if you ask me and anyone using it is too.

MumUndone · 20/10/2023 23:25

I enjoy watching pork... I call my husband babe... honestly, you couldn't make this up. Utterly hilarious, all the more so as the humour is unintended GrinGrinGrin

I’ve just dropped in to hear more about the pork, to be honest. feeling hungry

Dogsitterwoes · 20/10/2023 23:29

I don't think it's usually meant in an incest way.

Lots of other meanings already mentioned, but there's also the prison sense. It makes me think of the 'I'm the daddy now' scene in the film Scum.

All of them are in some way about domination/power imbalance so a big yuk from me personally.
