Using 'Daddy' in a sex context

JellyPopz · 20/10/2023 21:55

It's always made me uncomfortable, Daddy is what my kids call their father and not what I would ever call a lover.

Starting the 'This Morning Show' and ep 2 the PA comes in and tries to seduce her senior that she is in a relationship with using a baby voice and calling him Daddy.

I'm hoping the whole 'Yes Daddy', 'Give it to me Daddy' nods to something else and isn't fuelling a very sick fantasy?!

Sidenote: pleased to say I have never had a man who requested this.

Can someone enlighten me? It's not like this show was filmed many years ago, it's base story is around Me Too!

What is a D/s relationship?

Dom/sub

Fionaville · 20/10/2023 22:20

@Cowlover89 Ah OK. I'm obviously not up on these things 😅

crankit · 20/10/2023 22:21

That episode of friends when Phoebe is winding Ross up calling him daddy. He later talks to Emma and calls himself daddy, cringes and says Phoebe has ruined it for him forever. Sums it up!!

autumnpleasestay · 20/10/2023 22:21

Gross. And I don't think it's that common in America, either. Not among the people I've spoken with, at least, though who knows what they're doing behind closed doors, I suppose...

Theimpossiblegirl · 20/10/2023 22:21

In America it's not the same as Daddy is not the usual affectionate term for a father figure.

In the UK it's gross.

As a woman I enjoy sometimes watching pork

Mmmmm, crackling...

😂😂

HelpMeHelpTheKids · 20/10/2023 22:22

I've seen it on the BDSM scene. It's a power thing - like calling someone sir or master. While it's not my cup of tea, it's most definitively not to do with incest in this context.

MinnieL · 20/10/2023 22:29

It definitely is that common in the US. Especially in comparison to the UK

BloodandGlitter · 20/10/2023 22:31

I'll admit to using it during sex, definitely my thing and not my partners thing. I absolutely have "daddy issues" though and grew up without my father. It's very much a domination thing.

Is it that different to calling a lover babe or baby? That's more weird in my opinion

Babe or baby is more common synonymous with another adult. Grown adults call their friends "babe" and couples is it outside of the bedroom.
It's very different to a very specific relationship.
Men calling women Mommy during intercourse isn't a thing, which makes the Daddy thing even more obviously ick.

Men calling women Mommy during sex very much is a thing I'm afraid. Again it's a sub addressing their dominant partner.

Did that not make him lose his erection is unde a second? There's Daddy issues cos you're was absent and then there's pretending you're having sex with him

Nope, we're really open to exploring during sex. I'm not pretending to have sex with my father either. I'm not quite that fucked up.

If it’s not then why not use a different word?

Britneyfan · 20/10/2023 22:37

Yeah the “daddy” thing is gross, there is a woman on the latest “Love is Blind” US series who uses it and it’s super icky to me!

Dotcheck · 20/10/2023 22:37

It’s been around for a long time, but I think more in America.

Bruce Springsteen- ‘I’m on Fire’

’Hey little girl is your daddy home, did he go and leave you on your own oh oh. I’ve got a bad desire. Oh oh oh I’m on fire’

HelpMeHelpTheKids · 20/10/2023 22:37

@SleepingStandingUp It absolutely is a thing. While I find it very unpleasant, I'm not going to get too stressed about what consenting adults get up to in their spare time ...

We all have different things we find unpleasant. All the big porn sites, for example, completely turn my stomach as there's no indication at all (quite the opposite in some cases) the women are enjoying themselves. As someone who's spent time in the BDSM community where consent, boundaries and enjoyment are top of everyone's priorities, I find most porn repulsive.

Mumsanetta · 20/10/2023 22:38

Men calling women “Mama” is a thing - “Hey Mama” can be very sexy especially when uttered by Rio.

Daddy/Papi is also a thing and has nothing to do with infantilising or incest. It’s more akin to “Big Daddy” / “The Man”

um…a “mommy kink” is very much also a thing! Just Google it.

Photographsandmemories · 20/10/2023 22:41

There was a thread on here years ago by a woman upset her husband laughed when she tried to seduce him wearing a school uniform.

Not enough people told her she was being vomitrocious.

I mean I really think that's NOT a thing I want to Google, so I'll just believe you thanks 😂

Ejismyf · 20/10/2023 22:41

Yeah it's totally fucking weird, like incest to most normal people is disgusting so why people openly call others daddy in a sexual manner in front of people just turns my stomach.
