it was an assortment of random unhealthy snacks… 🤔 Yes, I appreciate he was in a rush but aibu to think is pretty bad? I mean how long does it take to throw some fruit and yogurt in a bowl. Give me strength 🙄

Lazy.

Devilsmommy · 20/10/2023 10:20

My husband would have been torn a new one if he gave my little one biscuits and cake for breakfast. I mean really, he couldn't just give him a banana or something?

buckingmad · 20/10/2023 10:20

a wheatabix and milk would have taken less effort 😂

Beamur · 20/10/2023 10:20

That's really poor. Biscuits and cake.

RhodaDendron · 20/10/2023 10:20

I remember people giving me stick for serving up Rice Krispies, I wish I’d had this example to hand.

phoenixrosehere · 20/10/2023 10:20

YANBU

Might as well have given the two year old a spoon and a bowl of sugar.

Grimchmas · 20/10/2023 10:20

Oh that.... that is pretty awful.

Did he take the photo and send it to you?

BusyCaz · 20/10/2023 10:21

As a one of it won't hurt, but thats really crap laziness to be honest. A banana or indeed any fruit would of been better.

bluebellsanddaisies23 · 20/10/2023 10:22

I think that would be my DS's dream breakfast! I can't believe that any one (with a reasonably sane mind) would've thought that appropriate for a breakfast, let alone a breakfast for a child.

takealettermsjones · 20/10/2023 10:22

Jesus. I know my kids' breakfasts could be better but at the very least it's cereal and milk. Cake and biscuits for breakfast is shit at any age.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 20/10/2023 10:22

Brilliant! Seriously though he'd be on duty all weekend trying to get a healthy breakfast down that after that!

PuttingDownRoots · 20/10/2023 10:22

Mine gave our 8mo custard once but had got confused between the fruit pot and custard pot!

That isn't even lazy. That is deliberate.
Unless the toddler managed to get it themselves?

Myhusbandearns150k · 20/10/2023 10:23

can I have a breakfast at yours.

DaftyInTheMiddle · 20/10/2023 10:23

Mines had a chocolate brioche but she’s been ill for a week and I’ve resorted to letting her eat literally anything as long as she’s eating.

This is lazy, possibly weaponised incompetence depending on what else he is like.

CharlieRight · 20/10/2023 10:23

That is almost unbelievable.

I took a lot of pride in sorting out my kid's breakfasts around that age

user1492757084 · 20/10/2023 10:24

Try to never purchase those foods.

I hope it is a one off.

Londonscallingme · 20/10/2023 10:25

Is this the kind of thing that he would eat for breakfast, out of interest?

jennytheonionslayer · 20/10/2023 10:25

Shoddy,

he forgot the crisps and a can of Coke.

SnapdragonToadflax · 20/10/2023 10:26

I assume this isn't the first time he's done something like this? I'd be furious (and I am not particularly strict about food).

Lavender14 · 20/10/2023 10:29

He's going to set them up for a complete sugar high and then crash. I'd be raging. There's no need for that at all if you had fruit and yoghurt in the house.

Does he like to play good cop a lot? It looks like he's wanted to give a 'treat' breakfast because there's no way he could think that's an acceptable breakfast for a 2 yo.

If mornings are really chaotic, ds loves overnight oats with natural yoghurt, ready brek and fruit in it. I freeze in batches so it just needs left out to defrost and it's ready for the morning.

Teegan89 · 20/10/2023 10:30

No, he’s doesn’t have a sweet tooth. His would be a sausage roll or something. I asked him to be more mindful.

justplodding · 20/10/2023 10:31

Honestly, its not the end of the world but i would have been really annoyed. Its thoughtless and careless of him and a bit meh.

It would have annoyed me OP

Legend!

ChipAndMiss · 20/10/2023 10:32

That’s just shit parenting.

AgnesX · 20/10/2023 10:33

I take it that your husband didn't want to do it and this is his passive aggressive way of making you not ask him again?
