it was an assortment of random unhealthy snacks… 🤔 Yes, I appreciate he was in a rush but aibu to think is pretty bad? I mean how long does it take to throw some fruit and yogurt in a bowl. Give me strength 🙄

That's weird - it would actually take longer to put the random snacks together (unwrapping etc) than to just give cereal/bread/toast/fruit! Was 2 yo refusing other breakfasts?

Growlybear83 · 20/10/2023 10:34

It's a pretty awful and unhealthy breakfast, but as a one off, it's hardly the end of the world!

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/10/2023 10:34

Pathetic. Did he think it was funny? Is he usually so lazy and lax?

Parker231 · 20/10/2023 10:35

Nothing to panic about as a one off - what does he usually give them. DH did the morning nursery and school run and was known to go via a French patisserie and they ate on the tube when time was tight.

Shoddy,

he forgot the crisps and a can of Coke.

Love this!

Seriously, this is really bad. Perhaps not as bad as a family who fed their child chocolate for breakfast (I overheard a conversation between nursery staff about how it was the third time that week that the child had arrived eating chocolate and the mum had said that’s all he would eat).

Sirzy · 20/10/2023 10:39

Why was a photo taken of it?

it’s not good but given the state of a lot of cereals it’s probably no worse than some of them!

Goldbar · 20/10/2023 10:39

That's pretty dreadful... was he trying to wind you up 🙄?

How long does it take to put some toast in the toaster and peel and banana?

StoneColdAlibi · 20/10/2023 10:40

Why did he send you a photo of it?

Jellycats4life · 20/10/2023 10:40

Weaponised incompetence

Nowherenew · 20/10/2023 10:41

I thought this was going to be a typical MN post of a perfectly fine breakfast but the OP worrying there’s too much sugar in the fruit or carbs in the oats.

But no, this breakfast is utter shit and so lazy!
I would be raging.

Why not just give her toast, yoghurt, cereal or a sausage roll like he was having.

Nowherenew · 20/10/2023 10:41

Yep!

How often does he do her breakfast OP?

Cowlover89 · 20/10/2023 10:41

Yanbu

PantsOfDoom · 20/10/2023 10:41

What a twit! Has he no common sense?

ASCCM · 20/10/2023 10:42

Hahahahahah I’m sorry but this is pretty funny!

He is an actual idiot, to the extent it is laughable. No permanent damage done but he needs to do better in future!

Nowherenew · 20/10/2023 10:42

Make sure he does her breakfast more often from now on.

TeeBee · 20/10/2023 10:42

Wow. That is shit parenting. Lazy and ignorant.

Newphony · 20/10/2023 10:42

Bare in mind that in continental Europe this is literally what people eat for breakfast every morning, biscuits and milk with and or pasties. In that context it is not that bad!

ChocolateCakeOverspill · 20/10/2023 10:42

AgnesX · 20/10/2023 10:33

I take it that your husband didn't want to do it and this is his passive aggressive way of making you not ask him again?

This. Weaponised incompetence

Blablasheep · 20/10/2023 10:42

Someone obviously had the time to take a picture and presumably send it too.
🤔

Universalsnail · 20/10/2023 10:42

Yeah that's terrible 😂

Although as a one off the kid has ate at the end of the day so I don't think it's worth arguing about.

BoohooWoohoo · 20/10/2023 10:42

Is his breakfast like a red bull and Doritos ?

Paperbagsaremine · 20/10/2023 10:43

I thought it was illegal for 16 year olds to be married these days.
How does he respond if you ask him,
"How old are you?!"

I assume OP took the photo to show us, else we’d probably not believe it.

I doubt he is an idiot, more likely he is punishing the OP for asking him to do breakfast.

rwalker · 20/10/2023 10:44

I’d say lack of thought as it would be the same effort to get fruit and yogurt
