Settle an argument - what sauce on what meat?

Been out in the cold all day watching DS at a football tournament. Back home and the general consensus was bacon/sausage sandwiches for tea. The circle of piss argument ensues. DH thinks I'm a heathen for having brown sauce on a bacon sandwich. According to him, it's brown on sausage and red on bacon. I say it's the other way round - who's right, him or me?

No sauce just butter.
I don't really like brown sauce. Ketchup I like sometimes but find bacon and sausage better without

Mrsgreen100 · 15/10/2023 20:25

OMG no mustard in the mix !!!

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz12 · 15/10/2023 20:25

Tomato on both, brown sauce is gross

CesareBorgia · 15/10/2023 20:26

<whispers> mayonnaise.

Nomorebeer22 · 15/10/2023 20:27

Always brown sauce unless there is a fried egg involved, then it has to be Red.

2023shady · 15/10/2023 20:27

Drews · 15/10/2023 19:11

Brown on either bacon or sausage. Red sauce can get in the bin.

That! I've just had a cottage pie with pickled red cabbage and brown sauce

marshmallowfinder · 15/10/2023 20:30

Brown on both. But have what the fuck you like. Red sauce is such a childish name for ketchup btw.

MechyMagic · 15/10/2023 20:32

You're all heathens.

Mayonnaise.

On everything.

Triptastico · 15/10/2023 20:41

Fruity on bacon and sausages. Ketchup (red sauce) on chips. Thems the rulez Grin

Electrictache · 15/10/2023 20:51

The thought of mayo on bacon or sausage is making me nauseous!

Diamondcurtains · 15/10/2023 20:53

Brown on both.

Davros · 15/10/2023 20:54

Brown on bacon
Red on sausages
🔨 (gavel)

TruffleShuffles · 15/10/2023 20:59

I’m shocked. I genuinely thought that everyone just had red on sausage and brown on bacon. I couldn’t possibly do it the other way round.

AnOldCynic · 15/10/2023 20:59

Brown on bacon, brown on sausage. Oh, and brown on egg 🤷‍♀️

Fallenangelofthenorth · 15/10/2023 21:06

AnOldCynic · 15/10/2023 20:59

Brown on bacon, brown on sausage. Oh, and brown on egg 🤷‍♀️

That's just fucking weird. Surely the egg yolk is the sauce?

Unless, God forbid, you cook the yolk to the point it stops being "a sauce"?

I don't think I could ever live with you. Or go camping with you. Or go to a cafe where you were in charge of eggs.

AnOldCynic · 15/10/2023 21:18

😂 oh god no, yolk must be runny! Dripping when you bite the butty, so that you can mop it up with the crust from your plate...

In the egg example in question brown sauce for taste only. Will you still come camping with me?

Fallenangelofthenorth · 15/10/2023 21:21

@AnOldCynic

Yes! As long as you don't ruin your delicious sounding butty with brown sauce 😋

Fallenangelofthenorth · 15/10/2023 21:22

Will there be proper butter too?

YireosDodeAver · 15/10/2023 21:25

Both brown and red sauce are vile.

With bacon - melted cheese
With sausages - houmous or mayo

AnOldCynic · 15/10/2023 21:27

Fallenangelofthenorth · 15/10/2023 21:22

Will there be proper butter too?

Yes. Definitely.

And alcohol the night before because it's great with a hangover.

lavagal · 15/10/2023 21:35

Brown for breakfast
Tomato for tea

DinnaeFashYersel · 15/10/2023 21:35

No sauce is best

CobwebsAndCauldrons · 15/10/2023 21:36

Brown on sausage and/or egg
Red on bacon and/or burgers

MrsHughesPinny · 15/10/2023 21:39

Brown on both. Tomato is just for chips.

autiebooklover · 15/10/2023 21:40
