Settle an argument - what sauce on what meat?

Been out in the cold all day watching DS at a football tournament. Back home and the general consensus was bacon/sausage sandwiches for tea. The circle of piss argument ensues. DH thinks I'm a heathen for having brown sauce on a bacon sandwich. According to him, it's brown on sausage and red on bacon. I say it's the other way round - who's right, him or me?

Your husband is right.

You are insane. M

sanityisamyth · 15/10/2023 19:49

Neither. They're both revolting!

TerfTalking · 15/10/2023 19:51

Brown on bacon or sausage. Ketchup on fish and chips only. No deviation.

@ShinyPikachu

Could you not use the sausage as a barrier to prevent cross contamination?

In a sandwich/roll, no. The sauce would still touch when eating.

In a cooked breakfast, the problem is places where they just dump the beans willy-nilly. It's almost always beside the egg so I either avoid buying one at all (there are always other nice options anyway) or order mine without beans. DH once had a breakfast where the beans were all over the top of the poor egg. He doesn't eat his yolk and always gives it to me but he couldn't that day.

Electrictache · 15/10/2023 19:58

Brown on bacon, tomato on sausage. Anything else is just wrong.

minipie · 15/10/2023 19:59

Covidiokilledtheradiostar · 15/10/2023 19:11

Neither!!!

Pixiesfan · 15/10/2023 19:59

YABU OP you are a heathen Grin

FieldInWhichFucksAreGrownIsBarren · 15/10/2023 20:05

Brown sauce on both.
Ketchup is for chips, burgers and hot dogs-everyone knows this.

Guessthevoice · 15/10/2023 20:07

He's right

Highlyflavouredgravy · 15/10/2023 20:08

Neither on either

muddyford · 15/10/2023 20:09

Brown on both. Ketchup is for removing the smell of fox poo from dogs that have rolled in it.

Simplepimplechrimple · 15/10/2023 20:10

I don't even know what brown sauce is. It wouldn't cross my mind to offer an alternative to Ketchup!

Poppysmom22 · 15/10/2023 20:12

No sauce on bacon and red on sausage

VineRipened · 15/10/2023 20:12

Mustard on a sausage sandwich
Nothing on bacon (and no butter on the bread either)

Poppysmom22 · 15/10/2023 20:13

Although this being MN and all a bit posh I was expecting a debate between bernaise and hollandaise and white or red wine for the jus

LivingTheDreamNow · 15/10/2023 20:14

Brown on both sausage and bacon. Ketchup for chips.

RattlewhenIwalk · 15/10/2023 20:14

Whichever you prefer...I raise you piccalilli 😁

gotomomo · 15/10/2023 20:14

Neither, butter is enough

FarEast · 15/10/2023 20:14

Ugh. I prefer mayonnaise.

DrinkingFreshMangoJuice · 15/10/2023 20:15

Red on both bacon and sausages. Brown is an abomination to food.

MamaDollyorJesus · 15/10/2023 20:17

Both sides buttered:

Bacon or Lorne Sausage - Brown

Link sausage shouldn't be on a roll

Black pudding & fried egg - ketchup

It's only ever called red sauce if it's from the chippy (but that raises a whole other debate about salt & sauce or salt & vinegar)

Cranberry sauce with Brie and bacon is delicious.

That's our Christmas Day breakfast.

Red on both bacon and sausages. Brown is an abomination to food.

I love HP sauce, I hate ketchup.

FuckingHellAdele · 15/10/2023 20:18

TheKeatingFive · 15/10/2023 19:35

Sausage has to be tomato, bacon could be either depending on mood.

This.

I can switch between ketchup and brown on a bacon butty, keepin' it fresh and all that. But brown sauce on sausage butties ventures into depravity. Hard no.

ThisNameHasChanged · 15/10/2023 20:19

You are right. I'd never have brown sauce with sausage, my OH does though. I quite like English mustard on bacon or sausage sandwich too.
