What is the weirdest thing that bugs people on MN?

I remember a poster saying that it really stressed her out to see a woman outside the house with wet hair as no one should be too busy to blow dry their hair. This was weird to me because I have shoulder length hair and never blow dry it.

What about you?

MN has so many weird things 😄 - someone wrote that it was 'vulgar' to undertake on the motorway yesterday.

Butterflyworms · 14/10/2023 19:56

Spider willies

HarperMae · 14/10/2023 20:04

The poster who was furious that her colleague disrespected a chef by putting salt and pepper on his christmas meal before eating, therefore meaning that he mustn't have thought the chefs cooking was up to scratch. Batshit.

"Vulgar" 😅

Illegal, dangerous and rude are the words that come to mind for me not vulgar

SpicedAppleAndFreshCider · 14/10/2023 20:08

I often let my hair dry naturally. I have straight hair that looks alright when I don't dry it.

LindorDoubleChoc · 14/10/2023 20:08

Toilet brushes.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 14/10/2023 20:09

And op I frequently leave the house with wet hair, I'm not sitting on public transport and its clean and freshly washed so how on earth is it affecting anyone else. People are so strange 😅

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/10/2023 20:22

That wearing anything even vaguely resembling white to a wedding is a heinous crime (see also black, and red..) Never heard that anywhere but here. Batshit.

DrinkingFreshMangoJuice · 14/10/2023 20:23

People get really angry about other people having a viewpoint. It doesn't matter if it's a complimentary or contrary view, just someone having an opinion is cause enough to start a riot.

BlackForestCake · 14/10/2023 20:31

People who think they are going to get caught up in a riot, demonstration or bombing if they go to London.

londonguild · 14/10/2023 20:33

People who get angry at others for having money on Mumsnet!

Loubelle70 · 14/10/2023 20:36

People who go to the shops in nightclothes

SnowyPetals · 14/10/2023 20:37

Quite a few people seem perturbed by anyone ringing their doorbell without booking an appointment in advance.

2023forme · 14/10/2023 20:39

People who are aghast when someone does their DH or DC washing/cooking (if over 18) as if families aren’t meant to ever function as a team.

Hayliebells · 14/10/2023 20:42

People who post "rtft". Who reads the whole thread before posting? Do people really aways do this? Smacks of "do as I say not as I do". I can't believe the posters who insist others do this, actually always do it themselves. Oh and people who think something bad will happen to your clothes if you leave washing out overnight, obvs.

That's funny. I'd say sitting in the middle lane without need is more vulgar!

You don't know you're not supposed to do this, right? Vulgar is the wrong word, idiotically dangerous is more apt.

Hayliebells · 14/10/2023 20:46

Or do know even!

Mydogmybestfriend · 14/10/2023 21:03

People that base their opinion on the news and argue with you about your opinion based on experience

Portakalkedi · 14/10/2023 21:04

Weird that people get posts deleted or are banned for having opinions that don't suit the majority of posters.

Duckypond · 14/10/2023 21:25

People do not answer the door if not a prearranged appointment.

Shower twice a day.

Change bedding every day.

Hate toilet brushes.

Nothing is nuanced just ok to fuck off.

ad infinitum.

Yes, people know this. It's the fact they used the world vulgar which is why PP brought it up. Because it's the wrong word. Entirely.

No1MumPendant · 14/10/2023 21:28

People getting REALLY ANGRY about perfectly normal adult hygiene practices - showering daily, washing clothes etc.

Only on MN are you a planet-murderer for having a daily wash.

The F in RTFT stands for 'fucking', not 'full'. Or it used to in the old days.

I can never get my head around how people using non-Southern Standard English or using linguistic patterns typical of other speakers around them seems to give so many posters 'the rage', cause them to 'cringe', internally combust etc.

ShoesoftheWorld · 14/10/2023 21:36

And 'hating confrontation' being an excuse for being ridiculously passive, to the extent of serious detriment to oneself and one's family. Because those of us who deal with things in a straightforward manner all just love it.
