WWYD if you found high heels in your husband's car?

If your husband told you he was going to a work related black tie ball with colleagues (happens a few times a year) and the following morning you found a pair of ladies high heels in a bag on the ground in the back of his car how would you react/what would you think?

OP posts:

  1. Colleague he gave a lift to accidentally left them in his car.
  2. He's kinky and wears them.
  3. They are a secondhand gift for you.
  4. He's murdered someone and taken the shoes as a trophy.

How do any of us know?

Can't you just ask him?

Nicole1111 · 13/10/2023 19:12

I’d assume he gave someone a lift and they left their heels in the car after changing in to comfier shoes

DisforDarkChocolate · 13/10/2023 19:14

I'd assume they'd been left behind by someone he gave a lift to.

DisforDarkChocolate · 13/10/2023 19:14

I'd assume they'd been left behind by someone he gave a lift to.

Daffodilwoman · 13/10/2023 19:14

My first thought would be he’d given a colleague a lift and they had changed into comfy shoes, leaving the other shoes by accident.

Mycatshandbag · 13/10/2023 17:53

That he dropped off a female colleague who swapped into comfie shoes and left her heels in the car by mistake.

This. Do you trust him?!

ThisHumanBean · 13/10/2023 19:16

I think if i was going to shag a bloke in a car after a fancy night out i'd do it in my heels and it would be the comfies left in the bag. Deffo wouldn't be having a hot affair in my flats!

In all seriousness OP, if its just this, the all the pp's are probably right. If it were my DH id assume a colleague had left them by mistake. Only you know if there's possibly more to it.

IslandsInTheSunshine · 13/10/2023 19:17

Do you mean the footwell? The floor of the car?

I'd think if he was seeing another woman she'd gone home with no shoes, or her sensible ones on and he was too dim to know her shoes where there.

Or he is a cross dresser and forgot he'd left the shoes there.

Are you having any issues between you both at the moment?

IslandsInTheSunshine · 13/10/2023 19:18

FGS just ask him.

It could have been
Rita, Sue and Bob Too

😁

Castleview6 · 13/10/2023 19:18

I’d assume my husband gave a colleague a lift and she swapped her shoes, leaving her heals in the car. But you might not trust your husband?

EtiennePalmiere · 13/10/2023 19:21

Are they nice ? Are they your size ? You could just keep them

BastetsWhiskers · 13/10/2023 19:23

Not much really. Probably complete mistake. I wore a pair of heeled red suede shoes yesterday to A&E only because I couldn't find my flats and my trainers needed a wash. There wasn't any chance I was trying to wear sexy shoes. They didn't smell.

He was probably just trying to help, shit happens, ask him

I always think this is a funny thing... finding knickers, surely it only happens on TV / in the movies? I mean who goes somewhere wearing knickers, has an affair / whatever they are doing then walks away with no knickers on?

Without being too explicit.. my long distance partner likes to keep mine, i usually get them back nice and clean/washed a few weeks later, but then he steals the pair i'm wearing on that occasion, so there is quite often a pair of my knickers somewhere in his car. There's currently a pair of his boxers under my pillow from our last meeting.

I'd think someone having an affair wouldn't be stupid enough to leave them in their car if they did what my BF does.

As for the OP's situation, i'm with everyone else, they're probably a co workers and she's left them after switching to a pair of flats and forgot them when he took her home after the party.

Stravaig · 13/10/2023 19:23

He's part of a serial killer duo, they keep the shoes as trophies, but forgot to divvy them up this time. Obviously. Are you sure there's no body in the boot?

Or, there's always the boring but sane gave-colleague-a-lift option 🤷‍♀️

Bearcub101 · 13/10/2023 19:23

He gave a lift and she left them there

CurlewKate · 13/10/2023 19:25

Surely he gave someone a lift home and she had changed her shoes? IsnMt that the most obvious explanation?

MargotBamborough · 13/10/2023 19:25

I would just ask him.

PinkyFlamingo · 13/10/2023 19:25

You haven't said what you assume?

Topofthemountain · 13/10/2023 19:30

I wouldn't even expect my DH to tell me he had dropped someone off, unless it came up in conversation.

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 13/10/2023 19:33

They were my shoes and yes, changed into flats after the event.

A colleague had given me and 2 others a lift home. The following day he plonked them down on my desk and crossly told me to never leave my shoes in his car again. I completely forgot about them until then. Seemed really annoyed and working relationship never recovered.

Turns our his wife went mental rang the two other colleagues to check his story and called my boss at the time to say she didn't want me to work with him anymore.

Obviously I think she was crazy and was over reacting but a minority of others said they wouldn't blame her and of course she would think they worst and I should have called her to apologise.

OP posts:
MargotBamborough · 13/10/2023 19:35

That's absolutely batshit, OP.

Her, not you.

Namerequired · 13/10/2023 19:36

They would need to have had issues before this for that to have happened. It’s unlikely that was the 1st and only issue.

AmyDudley · 13/10/2023 19:37

As everyone has said he gave life to a colleague and she changed into trainers and accidentally left her heels in the car.

If they'd been having rampant sex in the car and her heels flew off her feet, then she'd notice the minute she stepped out of the car that she had nothing on her feet and would retrieve her shoes. Unless he drove her to her front door, picked her up and threw her shoeless into her house, which seems unlikely.

As the saying goes 'when you hear hoofbeats, look for horses not zebras' Especially not zebras in high heels.

SJP306 · 13/10/2023 19:38

The fact they were in a bag, and he'd been to a black tie event I wouldn't be suspicious. A pair of pants in the car would be a different story.
