WWYD if you found high heels in your husband's car?

If your husband told you he was going to a work related black tie ball with colleagues (happens a few times a year) and the following morning you found a pair of ladies high heels in a bag on the ground in the back of his car how would you react/what would you think?

I would actually ask why partners were not invited?? that is weird not to invite wives and hubbies etc!

As they are in a bag I’d assume he’d given someone a lift.

This^

icelollycraving · 13/10/2023 18:31

If they are a large size (his size basically) I’d assume they were his. Could have been a lift, could have been a hook up.

RoseAndRose · 13/10/2023 18:32

Either I'd think they were something DD had strewn, but if not hers then either he'd given someone a lift and they'd been left behind (innocuous) or he's been with another woman (not innocuous)

Honestly, I'd want to know why I had not been invited. He's obviously dropped off a colleague at home who changed out of painful high heels and forgot to take them home. She might have sat in the back as he might have had someone else sitting in the front.

HurkleDurkling · 13/10/2023 18:33

Just ask him and don’t accuse him.
Or wear the shoes if they fit!!

treadingonlego · 13/10/2023 18:35

As they are in a bag I’d assume he’d given someone a lift

Or that he murdered someone and kept their shoes as a trophy. Either or 😉

AliasGrape · 13/10/2023 18:36

I’d assume the lift thing too, or that a pair had been left behind and he’d picked them up to rerun to the office the next day.

However, if he did give someone a lift I’d find it odd he didn’t mention it - we tend to tell each other about our nights and what happened, or if they’d stayed over in a hotel it would be most likely he’d have text me to describe the breakfast they’d received in some detail, followed by ‘just checking out now, going to drop Barbara at station on way home so probably back in an hour or so’ or something similar.

I’d probably ask, but I’d be far more likely to assume there was an innocent explanation than not.

Myhusbandearns150k · 13/10/2023 18:36

He’s definitely murdered someone and kept the shoes.

I agree with the PP. I'd assume he gave someone a lift and she left them by mistake. I wouldn't assume anything more unless there were other things to suggest differntly. I'd be more concerned if I found a pair of knickers.

I always think this is a funny thing... finding knickers, surely it only happens on TV / in the movies? I mean who goes somewhere wearing knickers, has an affair / whatever they are doing then walks away with no knickers on?

lemonskittles · 13/10/2023 18:38

I'd assume he gave a group of people a lift home as they were in the back. If she was the only one surely she'd have sat in the front and put them in the footwell?

Why is it weird? It’s a work event…. 🤔

topnoddy · 13/10/2023 18:39

I'd want to know how they can be both on the ground and in the back of his car at the same time !

DustyLee123 · 13/10/2023 17:52

As they are in a bag I’d assume he’d given someone a lift.

And since they were in the back of the car and not the passenger footwell, I'd assume he'd given several people a lift.

Many work events don't include partners. Not even chirtsmas do's. I've never been to my DH work events nor him to mine in 20 years of corporate jobs.

Createausername1970 · 13/10/2023 18:42

I would assume he had given someone a lift and they had forgotten them.

So you can either

Leave them where you found them and forget about them; or
Ask him if he knows there is a pair of high heels in the back of the car; or
Put them onto your shoe rack and see what happens.

gotomomo · 13/10/2023 18:43

I'd presume he gave a lift to a colleague. Not all men are cheaters!

Munchyseeds2 · 13/10/2023 18:44

I would just be thinking he had done a nice thing and given someone a lift

What are you thinking?

QforCucumber · 13/10/2023 18:46

I wouldn’t even have assumed lift.

we were at a wedding recently, there were flip flops offered - I took off my painfully high heels and asked our friends who were staying over if I could put them in their car so I didn’t forget them when my taxi arrived. I still haven’t got them back so they’re likely still in the boot.

Cakeorchocolate · 13/10/2023 18:47

I'd assume he'd given someone a lift.

Nogg · 13/10/2023 18:48

Ok that’s where my shoes went.
did you find my knickers as well?
love to your husband

Screamingabdabz · 13/10/2023 18:11

If my DH hadn’t been up front and mentioned to me that he’d give Sue a lift, or Diane asked him to store her heels because she’d changed or whatever whatever… I’d suspect the worst.

In could have been Sue and her husband though. Or Diane and Bob from accounts. It doesn’t necessarily mean there was just a lone woman in the car.

It could have been
Rita, Sue and Bob Too

BreatheAndFocus · 13/10/2023 18:52

I’d assume he’d given a female colleague a lift and they’d left them behind in his car by accident, having changed back into their comfy shoes after the work thing.
