Sister on holiday with Covid

Spoke to sister this morning. She and her young child have tested positive for Covid after having a cough for a couple days. They are on a cruise due to disembark tomorrow.
I've told her she should tell the medical team onboard and isolate in cabin. She says I'm being ridiculous, that it's the last day so she will stay onboard on the pool deck in the fresh air. She lap says there's loads of people coughing.

I'm angry at her - she's got a flight back tomorrow - she says she will wear a mask but will enjoy the last day of the holiday.
She only tested as she had an lft in her case which I told her to pack.

Aibu for being annoyed at her?

When you're on a cruise, it is. Cruise operators really don't enjoy viruses spreading around the close confines of ships, and they so easily do. Have you ever been on a cruise?

15 weeks later I’m still struggling with brain fog and crippling fatigue after my ‘mild cold’

And I got brain fog, crippling fatigue and a hell of a lot more after getting the flu a few years ago. That doesn't change the fact that for the vast majority the flu is mild.

It's interesting when people with symptoms test, and if it's not covid they go out and it doesn't matter if they spread it then apparently 🤔

Don't understand the logic there at all, you might not spread covid but could be the flu or a common cold etc. which can also lead to complications and death in vulnerable people!

So for those who test and isolate if they have covid why would you not just isolate every time you're sick?

I had the same after flu. I was off work for 3 months. But LC is a whole different level.

Not for me it wasn't.
My 'long flu' was a lot worse than a lot of peoples experiences with 'long covid'.

But for most the flu AND covid will be mild.

And according to this the post-viral illness seems to be equally as bad whether it was flu or covid. https://fortune.com/well/2023/04/18/how-avoid-long-covid-post-viral-illness-flu/

Some people with symptoms get all high and mighty about testing and isolating but if they get a negative covid test they go out, so could spread something that could cause the same amount of harm!

@IamRa yes I have and your totally ignoring the point I’m trying to make. It isn’t a legal requirement to isolate regardless if it’s the ships rules or not. People could be walking on board unaware they have Covid as they haven’t tested. It’s impossible to stop it spreading. It’s just like any other virus now it isn’t a pandemic anymore.
