To be against the attacks on Palestine

What happened in Israel was horrific by Hamas. But why are Palestinians being restricted, bombed, dehydrated and deprived of basic needs because of terrorists? Why is the world supporting Israel commiting war crimes?

Hamas are sick fucks to kill innocents. But it's like history repeating again. 9/11 caused millions of Iraqis killed for what?

Have we learned nothing from the past???

Unless you have evidence of this being deliberate, please keep your half-baked inflammatory ideas to yourself.

The IDF isn't going to waste missiles bombing civilians, it gives no tactical advantage.

Wasting missiles? IDF is by no means short of missiles - 6000 used in a week more than the whole amount used in the US bombing of Afghanistan and new delivery by US this week

It's by no means unknown for individuals in any army to 'go off piste' and bomb civilians for a bit of fun for no 'tactical advantage'- happened a number of times in the Gulf war and no doubt other wars

GAZA EVACUATION A WAR CRIME says Egeland

Jan Egeland, the Norwegian former diplomat who was involved with the Oslo Accord and facilitated talks between the Palestinians and Israel, tells BBC Radio 4's Today programme that Israel's evacuation order for northern Gaza is a forced transfer of people, considered a war crime under the Geneva Convention.
Egeland, who is secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee Council. adds there is now no practical way of approaching the humanitarian "catastrophe" underway in Gaza.
There are "many children under the rubble that no-one can dig out... tens of thousands destroyed or unliveable housing units... thousands of people fleeing for there lives," he says.
Egeland says the scale of the crisis in Gaza has not yet been grasped fully by the West.
"The UK, US and EU have rightfully said we're with Israel in fighting terror," Egeland adds. " I hope they haven't given a green light to smash a million children."

I can't help but not condone any violence or death - even in retaliation of terrible violence. So frankly if it were me, I couldn't be capable of launching a rocket at Gaza. I feel ill thinking what it must be like being there. How terrifying. I just can't bring myself to want Gaza attacked.

That said, I sat here for a few hours thinking that attitudes like mine are probably why most of my ancestors are dead. We just bent over every time. Went quietly. Every time. And it makes me ill thinking of that too.

All of our ancestors are dead and that's our fate as well. But hopefully not now and not horribly !

Arif Nashriyaat proclaimed his joy at the crimes committed by assailants affiliated with Hamas and posted, “My Allah, you have given great peace to the hearts of us Muslims. Grant success to the Muslims of Palestine in the same way and also end the oppressors living in India soon. Amen,

There's just so much unreliable stuff around - don't worry about what was clearly well intentioned posts

And now that the internet has been cut in Gaza and it's getting too dangerous for outside journalists there will be virtually no verifiab;e independent information - it will all be coming from Hamas and IDF spokespeople

@Tessofthebicyles thanks - that is from yesterday and the Al Awda Hospital was still standing at 8am this morning according to Al Jazeera

But maybe there's more than one childrens hospital in Gaza?

May I respectfully suggest that to help, people stop posting inflammatory, unverified 'information' for a start.

The IDF have allowed a longer window of opportunity for people to evacuate. I can't give the timings as they are in a different time zone.

Foreign nationals could be allowed to leave Gaza on Saturday, Canadian officials say | CBC News

Government officials say they’ve been told by their Egyptian counterparts that there could be a window of opportunity for Canadians stuck in Gaza to leave the territory on Saturday.

It is in their interest to get the death-toll as high as possible.

It's also my firm belief that Hamas have done what they did, in order to provoke an extremely violent reprisal. I can only think that they hope Israel's retaliation is so bad, that even the Americans and British will criticise them.

Israel then bombs and burns the vehicles full of Palestinians who are evacuating by following their instructions.

@Xenia are you joking? It's their home. Would you like to be forcibly driven out and have to go and live in another western country because there's "loads of them"?!

And Hamas started this? No, the Palestinians have been existing in a state of apartheid for decades. Losing more and more of their land and homes. They've been being killed all this time as well. Hamas are utterly deplorable of course, but the response is disproportionate and genocidal.

flufferknutter · 14/10/2023 12:44

I actually used to support Israel and feel bad that they were surrounded by hostile countries, but they appear to have managed to bring some of them round now - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar for example, which shows it can be done. Now, I'm seeing the other side to the story and I'm actually shocked.
