To be against the attacks on Palestine

Threemangoes · 11/10/2023 13:42

What happened in Israel was horrific by Hamas. But why are Palestinians being restricted, bombed, dehydrated and deprived of basic needs because of terrorists? Why is the world supporting Israel commiting war crimes?

Hamas are sick fucks to kill innocents. But it's like history repeating again. 9/11 caused millions of Iraqis killed for what?

Have we learned nothing from the past???

Tessofthebicycles do you envisage her walking along the road, god knows how many miles, while snipers and bombs magically leave her alone? 🙄
Shes stuck like all the other civilians there!

I find it rather inappropriate to use the platform she has as the first minister's MIL for such ons sided publicity. There are many Brits in Israel who are affected by the massacre, why don't they get to share top spot on the BBC website?

Almost as one-sided as Sunak deciding he can declare support for Israel on behalf of the UK...

I thought she went in on a Diplomatic Pass, being related to a British Politician?
As such she could leave the same way she got in.

ForFriends · 13/10/2023 19:13

I have missed that, that's really good to see.

We need a lot more of this sort of thing. We are all human after all on a very short journey in this world.

Hamas have ordered Gazans to ignore the Israeli warnings to evacuate. Just wtf, why would you do that to people

It's also being reported that Hamas are also blocking roads to hinder the evacuation - as if it's not hard enough

Hamas are forcing civilians back to their homes.

This has been confirmed by a Gazan doctor in a live interview on Channel 4 News about an hour ago.

Interesting I've just googled. The real villains here are the financial backers of Hamas, Turkey and Qatar who get off scot-free whilst the poor will suffer a terrible injustice.

“The problem in Gaza is that Hamas hangs on to power by force. If Hamas gave up power, there would be no problems,” he said, accusing the group’s corrupt leaders of using the people of Gaza as cannon fodder for their ambitions.

“I want them to send their own children to carry out attacks if they have to. Why doesn’t [Hamas leader] Ismail Haniyeh go to the fence to throw stones?” he asked, referring to weekly protests along the Gaza-Israel border organized by Hamas.

Actually, they do.

From the 'Getting into Gaza' website

Gaza is not open to individuals wishing to travel or explore the region per say, but to those with a connection to international organisations or journalists, for example. In order to gain access to Gaza, you must have a legitimate reason to enter before you can apply for either an Israeli or Egyptian travel permit. Most travel via Egypt using the Rafah crossing.

I think the previous poster was referring to how she will get out - the bombs won't swerve round her to allow her safe passage.

Jellykat · 13/10/2023 19:40

Exactly ChickHenLittle!
Tessofthebicycles, youre missing my point, how does she physically get from where she is to the Rafah crossing???

ForFriends · 13/10/2023 19:45

So hamas deprives Palestinian children of milk, electricity, education... They scarify their own children so the world can be outraged. Murder hundreds of their own children to manipulate international public and Hamas gets billions as a result of the sympathy they get. Money is the main cause for this conflict, they don't want a solution.

This is what the son of Hamas founder said 5 years ago in this video.

ketchup07070 · 13/10/2023 19:50

Israel has killed 70 people, mostly women and children, attempting to flee south of Gaza City. Even if they try to escape the north they will still be hit by air strikes.

Parkingt111 · 13/10/2023 20:02

@ketchup07070 just saw this
Disgusting
Tell them to flee then bomb them whilst they are fleeing

Seeing as I don 't actually know where she is, or how she got there, I'm afraid I can't answer your question.

StoneofDestiny · 13/10/2023 20:07

Welsh and Scottish Parliament not flying Israeli flags thankfully

ketchup07070 · 13/10/2023 20:11

@Parkingt111 I should add, the Guardian is reporting it as coming from various sources, so we can't say it's verified. But, as Humza Yousef's mother in law said they are still bombing as people flee, it seems likely.

She is in Gaza - on a permit, as you explained in a previous post.

ChickHenLittle · 13/10/2023 20:14

@Tessofthebicyles

"To get into Gaza she must have had a pass from the Israeli authorities. So if she can get in, she can get out."

It's this people are wondering about, you say she can get out but don't explain how.

kerstina · 13/10/2023 20:15

YANBU Not in my name. I think the Israeli government want all of the Gaza people wiped out .Whether they flee or are killed. I didn’t agree with the Iraq war either .
why is our country banging the war drums again,
Someone on question time asked about how bad it would have been if Jeremy Corbyn had been leader of the Labour Party or prime minster but these atrocities might have been less likely if people in power were actively trying to get a solution to the Israel / Palestine situation for years previously rather than picking one side or the other !

ForFriends · 13/10/2023 20:16

No need to fly flags, it will just cause friction and unrest. We have the British flag and our laws, anyone publicly supporting Hamas online or in the streets is supporting a terror organisation, which I believe may be a criminal offence. We are now a multi cultural society and we've all got to do our best to be civil and and calm in these matters.
