To intensely dislike Keir Starmer

1000 replies

LemonyTicket · 27/09/2023 00:42

I can't stand Tories.
The current Tories are the worst

But I still intensely dislike Keir Starmer and will probably vote Green.

I find him phony, with no vision, like a terrible 6th form prefect. And to be honest his whole front bench are dreadful. Wes Streeting nauseates me.

Is it just me?

Thats brilliant to see, so much for Sunak ditching Green targets being popular.

I think there is only one lone voice on here @Lastchancechica

Wonder what next week's failed attempt at boosting Tory (last) chances will be? We've done:

Bashing immigrants
Bashing the "green brigade" (incorporating the "woke mob")
Bashing the sick and disabled

I think it's rather more than that.

pointythings · 29/09/2023 15:37

It's a pattern on here, isn't it? The Tories drop some insane policy aimed at their extremists and next thing you know there's a post on here going 'Oooooh, that Keir Starmer, I don't like the look of him'...

The smell of desperation is thick in the air.

Who knows but going by the votes more agree than disagree

Fortunately for this country, votes on a MN poll are meaningless - almost as meaningless as conveniently timed anti opposition threads.

Isn’t that convenient? I imagine the polls to be completely different given how left wing the forum it is.

EasternStandard · 29/09/2023 16:25

🤷‍♂️ the op is obviously not alone

People can share annoyances about public figures even if some love them

Lastchancechica · 29/09/2023 16:26

Nudging 60%
It doesn’t bode well does it?

The country seems to be too - Tories 21 points behind in the polls.

pointythings · 29/09/2023 16:27

@Lastchancechica there you are! Can you provide me with any supporting evidence for your contention a few pages back that there has been a shift (which you hope will bring a Conservative GE victory)?

It doesn't bode anything, given the nature of these threads.

Lastchancechica · 29/09/2023 16:28

Let’s see what happens, because I don’t think Starms latest string of failed policies publicly broadcasted as he requested and the clangers have been factored into the latest polls yet.

I do love your optimism, it's cute.

The latest polls are really very recent.

pointythings · 29/09/2023 16:42

@Lastchancechica you should follow Electoral Calculus. They have correctly predicted the outcomes of 7 out of the last 8 elections, and they accurately predicted Boris Johnson's large majority in 2019. I've been following them.

You won't like what they predict for your friends. And it hasn't shifted for a year.

But that’s not to say it won’t.

Lastchancechica · 29/09/2023 16:44

We are a year away from elections.

pointythings · 29/09/2023 16:51

@Lastchancechica a serious question: what do you think the Conservatives should do to turn things around? Because clearly flinging around non-policies, culture war soundbites and anti-environmental rhetoric isn't working. Tax cuts are a fiscal impossibility in the current economic climate. And the trans issue isn't going to swing it either, even if it does for you - most people are too worried about jobs, housing, the economy, the environment, education and the NHS.

sep135 · 29/09/2023 16:56

For me, I'd like them to investigate the feasibility of a part-pay NHS model as in France and Germany.

MNers seem to be united in their views that the healthcare is a lot better but we seem unwilling to look to other European countries for solutions.

I don't think the NHS can continue in its current state, for patients and staff alike. And I don't think throwing more money at it is the long term answer.

I think Starmer needs to carry on talking. That’s all that is needed.

pointythings · 29/09/2023 16:59

I think you might more usefully ask Rishi to shut up if you want a turnaround...
