What do you mean "you're not allowed to tell the truth”? There are posts all the time on Mumsnet about people finding smears painful, GP incentives, pros and cons . The fact you don't know this shows you don't normally come on this forum.

Yep. Just one example here:

When exactly do you do this important 'job in the media'? You've spent the past four days on this thread defending a rapist (with a nice side helping of anti-vax conspiracy bullshit) at all hours of the day and night.

Mumsnet. By parents, for rape apologists and anti-vaxxers?

Right? And so have others. Why are you only digging me out?
Oh yes, that's right... because I'm not following the preferred narrative.

If people stopped @-ing me, I wouldn't respond. Hope that answers your questions.

Also, am neither of those things. I just want people to have ALL of the information about a given subject and for people who have allegations made against them to be deemed innocent until proven guilty. Really not sure how they makes me a bad person...

monsteramunch · 26/09/2023 13:19

@Jumpingthruhoops

The narrative in this instance is 'the test only takes a few minutes' and 'it doesn't hurt' when, for a lot of people including myself, the experience is anything but. Yet we're not allowed to tell the truth in case it stops people coming along. That's as maybe but women should still be given all the information.

Huh? There are countless threads on here, for example, where people share their experience of painful smears (and other procedures re female health) and openly say how awful it is that our discomfort and pain has been routinely minimised by doctors.

Who is the 'we' not allowing people to 'tell the truth'?

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/09/2023 13:21

Jumpingthruhoops · 26/09/2023 12:02

Mmm... not really. But OK.

Great that more women have come forward. If he's guilty I hope they throw the book at him. That's one issue.

BUT these allegations HAVE surfaced now because the elites want to shut him up. That's a separate issue entirely but both things can be true at the same time.

Obviously.

Who are the elites?
And what has Brand said that warrants their attention?

Jumpingthruhoops · 26/09/2023 13:24

BlurredEdges · 26/09/2023 12:52

There are hundreds of threads on here with women discussing their sometimes painful and unpleasant experiences of smear tests.

As you'd know if you'd bothered to look. But again, don't let reality or truth get in the way of your rapist defending.

If I'd bothered to look? That's rich. So I've not looked at this one particular thread? Big deal!

Guess it's much like those on here slamming RB's online content without watching a single minute of it! 🙄

My comments about it were still deleted, which proves there is 'censorship' around this topic.

Your comment was likely deleted because it included a personal attack on another poster, whom you called ‘a bit silly’.

@MNHQ will have emailed you to tell you this.

Drivingone · 26/09/2023 13:32

My comment about it was deleted. What does that tell you?

It tells you that your post was in breach of the talk guidelines.

Or are you saying @mnhq are part of the conspiracy?

Interesting that you'd rather find fault with the world than take responsibility you did something wrong. Ironic, really, considering the topic of this thread.

There are loads of threads on cervical smears, not just one. I have watched some of RB videos regarding covid and he absolutely misinterprets and bullshits as explained here.

Lizard people, or Bill Gates with his laser. Or something inbetween.

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/09/2023 13:39

@Jumpingthruhoops You said ...these allegations HAVE surfaced now because the elites want to shut him up.

Would you prefer the journos sat on it until a later date? When would be convenient for you?

Brand isn't saying anything new. I've watched his stuff and I haven't heard him say anything that I havent heard on television, radio and print media. Have you ever read Private Eye, watched Ben Goldacre or even Neil Oliver? Russell Brand is not some Teller of Truth.

He's a multiple sex offender who knew this day was coming so groomed his followers into believing that shadow forces are out to get him.

My comment about it was deleted. What does that tell you?

It tells me you broke talk guidelines.

A post simply stating that smear tests can be painful, or even very painful, would not have been deleted. Neither would one saying doctors routinely minimise female pain and health issues. Because there are countless posts about that on here. Whole threads in fact. Lots, going back years and years.

Which tells me that your post today cannot have been deleted due to 'censorship around this topic' as you have claimed. It was deleted for another reason - breaking talk guidelines.

Do you understand now that MN censoring discourse around female health issues isn't the reason your post was deleted?

Plus black men are part of the elite.

Your comments were deleted because you broke talk guidelines. There is no 'censorship' whatsoever about the topic of smear tests, the pros and cons of them, the benefit vs risk, and women's experiences, including the negative ones.

As you would know if you were either an existing user of this site, or had bothered to do the tiniest, most basic bit of research, rather than shouting 'conspiracy'.

Are you going to retract your absolute bullshit claim that there is 'censorship' around the risks of smear tests? Or are you going to double down on it even though many, many posters have demonstrated, with actual evidence from here and many other sites, including the government and NHS sites, that you are wrong?

I have to go to a meeting now, but I think I can take a wild guess...

Bingbangbongbash · 26/09/2023 14:45

SatsumaNightmare · 26/09/2023 10:29

I never said it was a conspiracy theory.

Now look at what you posted. Look how they are downplaying that. ‘A few.’ ‘Unnecessary worry and also the need for more tests.’ It doesn’t actually give any statistics so people can utilise the data. It also doesn’t mention any of the physical repercussions of a false positive such as medical intervention that can cause life-long damaging impact. It doesn’t mention that should the medical establishment be trying to introduce smear tests now, the system would not pass their own checks for effective screening. It does not mention that GPs are given an incentive for getting a hit rate of people attending.

What I don’t understand is why you, and others like you, wish to stop people obtaining information. What are you so scared of? And to be clear, this is information from the exact same system that you are supporting in this instance. If you think the information is rubbish then dismiss it.

What this ultimately comes down to is a desire for people to not be able to make their own decisions. It’s the weirdest sort of group think.

I’m done with this thread.

@Jumpingthruhoops

I wonder why this post wasn’t deleted in the giant smear (see what I did there?!) campaign.

But that is literally ALL I said in that one very short post. So it has got to be that.

Is this what they mean by a 'pile on'?

Seriously, go away..

Bingbangbongbash · 26/09/2023 15:02

Jumpingthruhoops · 26/09/2023 12:49

100% this!

This is actually the perfect example to highlight what RB does in his content.

The narrative in this instance is 'the test only takes a few minutes' and 'it doesn't hurt' when, for a lot of people including myself, the experience is anything but. Yet we're not allowed to tell the truth in case it stops people coming along. That's as maybe but women should still be given all the information. The same is/was true about RB's content during covid and since, particularly relating to medical procedures.

Here’s another smear post that has slipped through MN’s ever-tightening net. Sloppy work @MNHQ

Jumpingthruhoops · 26/09/2023 15:10

Bingbangbongbash · 26/09/2023 12:21

I was suitably chastised for that, and the comment deleted as it contravened MN Talk Guidelines.

I assume any comments of yours that have been deleted were similarly found in contravention.

Unless it’s all a conspiracy?

Nope, not at all. 'Silly' is the worst language I've used on this thread. Your comment, on the other hand, was utterly vile. And strange coming from someone so 'considerate' 🙄

I would never have reported it, though, because I defend everyone's right to free speech. That was your opinion and you were entitled to it. See how this works?

You have a right to your opinion, as do I.

Not every opinion carries the same weight, though.

Like, for example, Brand on Covid v Dr of Molecular biology on Covid.

See how this works?

Er, no... pretty sure the comment 'you're f*ing th1ck' is universally accepted as being utterly vile. So not just 'my opinion'.

And as for your weak example of 'Brand on Covid v Dr of Molecular biology on Covid'... the more accurate phrase would be: 'Brand ON Dr of Molecular biology on Covid' since he would be presenting Dr Molecular's findings in his own video.

But you were nearly there 👏👏
