To think this just sums up XL Bully owners?

Look North last night. Peter Levy is interviewing a woman who owns two XL Bullys. Both cropped and docked which she says happened in another country before she got them (yeah, course it did).

Peter asks her “so why do people want these dogs in the first place, what’s the attraction for you?”

She replies “well I wanted dogs that were good with kids and famines and stuff so we got XL Bully’s cos they’re great with kids”

Wtf? If I didn’t know better I’d swear this was a spoof interview. Good with kids and families?? These dogs have been responsible for the most human deaths in dog attacks in the UK in recent years!!! Just last week an 11 year CHILD was attacked by one of these dogs … so when looking for a child friendly dog she bypasses the golden retriever etc and goes for the breed with the biggest track record of killing humans …

He then asked her if she will comply with the muzzle when the laws are changed - she said NO.

Then the cherry on the cake … he asked her “would you leave your child alone with these dogs?” And she said “yes, absolutely. I leave my two year old alone with them all the time whilst I’m busy making dinner etc”

Honestly the interview couldn’t have been any more gobsmacking.

This just sums up XL bully owners doesn’t it? Thick as pig shit with no regard to their own safety or the safety of others.

Get a greyhound and try to train out the instinct to chase
Not sure what went wrong.
I absolutely agree with you.
I Personally would never fully trust any dog, they are animals who can not vocalise what they're thinking therefore reactions will always hold an element of unpredictability. Even my loopy lurcher who has never displayed an ounce of aggression to anyone.

Ah so sorry Sistedtwister yes I see what you mean. Completely agree.

@Jacfrost
No I would not wish ill of either you or your child.
I hope I’m tolerant of others provided they aren’t mean spirited or cruel. I’m sorry your life is so affected by dogs in a negative way.

I’m not a huge fan of the human race as we bring things on ourselves. We created the XL. Not nature. Until we address breeders /GREEDERS this problem will continue. The greeders don’t care. They are probably already working on the next nightmare.

The majority are though thats the problem. Growing up i was never scared of certain breeds because there was hardly any about plus people that did have them were responsible. Not the case now though is it.

Living in Scotland it really fucks me off that we are probably going to see an escalation here.

SNP champions the sort of individuals who own these dogs. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that they’ve decided against a ban.

She’ll be doing a sad face interview when her two year old has had its arm ripped off, or worse, by this vicious breed. Yes, there are other dogs which are also vicious but maybe they should be muzzled too. It’s just that the spotlight happens to be on XL Bully’s right now 🤷‍♀️ I’m not a dog lover anyway so I don’t care.

Love it 🏳️‍🌈 😆

The stats about these dogs in particular have been terrible for years, in terms of the association with children getting killed/seriously wounded.

I have to agree with op that anyone with children in their home who's chosen to get one of these as a pet, over the hundreds of other available breeds, is frankly speaking, a bit thick really.

SomeCatFromJapan · 08/01/2024 13:29

“Instead, we believe any breed of dog can be potentially out of control and dangerous in the wrong hands.”

So they're doubling down on that blatantly untrue statement then.

It's clear nonsense - of course some dogs will be more dangerous than others due to either to size or breed temperament, or both. The "wrong hands" are only one factor. Why are they lying about the others?

Millie890 · 05/02/2024 15:55

Every single owner you see walking these Dogs look like they have the IQ of a tin of Spam and a prison record as long as their arm. She's absolutely right.

Millie890 · 05/02/2024 16:05

What a load of nonsense when people say "any Dog is dangerous in the wrong hands"...I've never heard of someone's Grandma being mauled to death by a Chihuahua.

Boomboom22 · 05/02/2024 17:17

As if strength of jaw and size doesn't matter.

Poppysmom22 · 05/02/2024 17:27

I love dogs and I love big dogs the bigger the better I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have big dogs myself and I know my way around a dog. I am super wary of these mixed bull breeds which is what the xl bully is. I cant read their body language clearly for some reason which makes me nervous and they do just seem to be unpredictable and a bit unstable I cross the road if I see them coming and I would never have mine off lead within a thousand miles of them.

There is a lady who has two XL bully siblings where I live. They are impeccably trained, and she is not the stereotype you think the owner should be.

Yes, that's right, because every single XL Bully owner must be exactly the same 🙄

Don't be so bloody offensive and ignorant.

Then WHY? Tell us WHY this dog.
