To be tired of penis beakers?

Seriously!

Penis beaker has become the benchmark of being on Mumsnet for long enough to allow for a slightly risky post.

But it makes no sense... You could have just copied a well used phrase on the site having (blissfully) no idea about the thread.

Sorry. It's been a long week.

I’ve lost the thread of this thread now I think. I’ve forgotten more than I can remember but does it matter? I joined MN for advice when I was about to be granny day care and that was nearly 17 years ago!

Years ago there was a thread by a mum of a toddler, they were waiting in the doctors surgery (I think it was) and toddler was being a bit grizzly, the mum went to call the toddler a whiny tinker but it came out as tiny wanker instead.

Thing is, if you've been on here a while (I think I've been on since 2006) it gets hard to work out if you remember people referencing classic MN nuttery, or were actually there. Especially if you enjoy a meander through MN Classics. Grin

So I was 'there' for Penis Beaker (just a few years ago??) and thought it was bloody stupid - a half-arsed, self-conscious attempt to recreate MN magic and iconic by-words. I'm trying to remember what I was there for in real time, rather than remembering people reminiscing. I did have a fondness for the 'lists found in shopping torleys' threads... I found one the other day that's an absolute CORKER but nobody is going to want to read that sort of thing now. Sad

I was here for mouldies, though I missed most of it as it kicked off when I was in hospital having a baby. When I came out I couldn’t work out wtf had happened and although everyone was taking about it no one wanted to talk about it iyswim.
