To be tired of penis beakers?

Seriously!

Penis beaker has become the benchmark of being on Mumsnet for long enough to allow for a slightly risky post.

But it makes no sense... You could have just copied a well used phrase on the site having (blissfully) no idea about the thread.

Sorry. It's been a long week.

But AIBU?

As someone who has absolutely no idea what this is about, can you fill me in? I feel like this Is about to be really funny

reallyunderstandsometimes · 15/09/2023 21:28

Mine are all so random, the pigeon that got creosoted (paul), the snail fuckers.. and of course the penis beaker.

I also randomly recall a lady thinking someone was breaking in and using her tumble dryer but don't ever remember the end of that thread.

Literally just type both search terms into google, they’ll both come up.
You can decide if they’re funny or not 😬

Are you on glue?

Though I still wonder if that MNetter ever found her mysterious disappearing ironing board as she never came back to the thread to update us.

Wasn't there also a thread where a MNetter's insane neighbours put a door/window in her wall or something?

Yes. The door. I am sure it was about 10 threads, and still ended up being a troll. That was a great set of threads.

Did I dream it or was there a photo of a real penis on this thread?
Not in a beaker

What was the shortened boys name that everyone tried to make a long name out of? It was so funny. Was it Hugo? Hugoesthere?

Balonz

FOJN · 16/09/2023 01:05

You're not wrong OP, it's had its moment, Susie Quatro's fat nan said much the same thing to me just last week.

4naansjeremy · 16/09/2023 02:05

I came here to make sure that super soaker got a mention. There was one other thread with a troll using similar methods that I’m sure was on mumsnet but I couldn’t seem to find it.

The OP was purportedly sad because she had chosen an unusual name for her child and MIL had refused to use it and even went as far as using a different name when referring to the baby.

Most posters were outraged but as the thread went on more and more were asking what the child was called. The Op ignores the question and the thread grows to hundreds of posts before she finally reveals the name.

Ilovecleaning · 16/09/2023 02:11

I don’t understand this thread at all. Have I led a sheltered life? Is there anyone out there kind enough to explain all these weird expressions?

4naansjeremy · 16/09/2023 02:17

They are just referencing famous mumsnet threads from years gone by. The equivalent of friends quoting a film or tv show you haven’t seen yet.

Just sad people like me trying to prove they are in the club.

nozbottheblue · 16/09/2023 03:33

Made me smile as my washing is currently being darked on and the garden is full of spiders...Hmm

Terry Wogan?

Greenly3 · 16/09/2023 06:18

I am completely baffled? Have no idea what I am reading it’s like another language? Can someone enlighten me please😂

EmpressaurusOfCats · 16/09/2023 07:06

Someone explained just a few posts ago - have a look!

There was. MNHQ deleted it and banned me poster.

Oh this is making me really want to re-read the minge at the swimming pool and the people (definitely NOT hedgehogs) shagging in the hedge threads. Can anyone remember the titles/keywords of either of those? Or better still, post a link?!

The hedge one WAS funny. I think it is titled 'someone keeps shagging/having sex in my hedge'

I'm intrigued about the returning mum and hauck thread.

SlippySarah · 16/09/2023 07:55

I'm pleased to see Terry Wogan's cock has made an appearance already.

I also have very fond memories of the shopping trolly list threads.

Grammarnut · 16/09/2023 08:01

Read the thread. Never heard of a 'penis beaker' and it seems very inefficient. We go to sleep usually and get up later and wash/shower separately - talking afternoon not night. At night would just go to sleep though DH might get up for a pee. Not bothered about being sticky.

LoseLooseLucy · 16/09/2023 09:14

Thanks for sharing with the group 👏

Lol. Thank you! I’ll have to Google ‘penis beaker’ et al 🤣

Spaghettihulahoops · 16/09/2023 10:47

Who was the poster who made a big deal about the fact that despite name changing she was an older poster. Listed the relevant threads then posted something highly embarrassing. Thing is she had forgotten to name change so the first poster was ‘is that you <insert username >?

CallieQ · 16/09/2023 10:55

Terry Wogan?

Confused
AllMyGoodUserNamesAreAlreadyTaken · 17/09/2023 12:08

Not that old a thread in the grand scheme but I laughed a lot at the poster who kept getting mansplained by an odious, junior to her, male colleague that she eventually christened the Shart Goblin.

Don't really get the need to prove how long you have been on MN per se - everyone was a newbie at some point & does it really matter?🤔

Jojofjo44 · 18/09/2023 13:17

I still worry about clothes being darked on
