If govt disclosed aliens visiting earth, would society break down?

Idly wondering what would happen if a few governments around the world told their people they had evidence of aliens visiting us.

How do you think people would behave? Do you think humankind is ready for that next level in intergalactic relations?

Those Mexican corpses don't look convincing at all - they look like a cliched sci-fi idea of aliens. My theory is that aliens will either look identical to us, or they'll take some form totally unrelated to any form of intelligent life on earth.
