It's just another thing to manipulate people with. We are all fed up with our leaders, striking and are generally just wanting rid of them. This is the sort of bullshit (after wars, pandemics) where they would hope to step in and prove their worth by being heroic (while emptying our bank accounts and raising taxes) which is only going to fail very badly because whilst some of us can't critically think, quite a few of us are more intelligent than they assume.

Rather than the future human theory, what about the theory that civilisations before were really advanced but were destroyed?

There was a fascinating documentary on Netflix about this. That there was a great flood that destroyed advance ancient civilisation. What was fascinating was that so many cultures all over the world have this story. Including us with Noah's ark.

Haven’t read the whole thread so apologies if it’s been mentioned, but I understand one of the issues in saying it out loud is clearly religion. Religion across the world. No main stream regions allow for aliens. Well I guess other than Scientology but I’d not consider that a main stream religion..

plus also fear etc, however yes I think we are getting to the stage governments will say it straight. It’s been drip fed in by the US now to prepare the populations. Which to me says they must expect something indisputable to occur.

Wasn't it Voyager - launched in 2018 - where folk got hugely excited because, having lost contact with it, newer technology started picking up its signals again and they thought it might be from something extraterrestrial?

Noah’s Ark comes to us from the Near East by virtue of Roman interference. But you’re right we already had lost land myths up here because we have erosional zones.

For the rest of it, define ‘advanced’ according to our present knowledge of the local time and space: and go look up Gobekli Tepe and similar age Neolithic sites. There’s a lot of re-visiting and revising of known Neolithic history lately. Also look up Doggerland.

I think the recent US Congress hearings were fascinating - they pretty much told us that they knew UFOs had been visiting us for years. For those saying that no evidence was presented - I agree David Grusch didn't present anything publicly but he did say he was willing to share evidence in a secure setting.

The US military released several videos of UFOs a few years ago, which were referred to in the Congress hearing. The US Government have confirmed they are genuine - they are, by definition, videos of unidentified flying objects - experts have said there is no earthly technology that could have flown the way they fly in those videos. And in the hearing, one of the ex Navy pilots said they saw them on a daily basis for weeks at a time.

I'm struggling to understand how aliens would undermine religion. Why would the aliens get the definitive vote on that?

I don’t know about other people but I’d welcome it if it meant we had their new technology too. Imagine them having healing technology.

As for those saying 'it's funny how these things always happen in the US' - how do we know that people from other countries aren't witnessing things that we don't know about?

People witness stuff all the time - they rarely report them as they're worried people will think they're mad. My Mum saw what she believes to be a UFO many years ago - strange lights followed her at speed alongside her car. But she didn't report it anywhere.

I believe that if the Chinese people witnessed stuff and reported it, their government wouldn't tell us. Likewise Russia. The US Navy have released those videos - but other country's militarys may not be so forthcoming. How do we know our own RAF don't have similar videos?

It astounds me every day that society still exists. I would imagine something a lot less sinister than aliens will do for us long before they even get around to coming here (assuming they exist).

Notice how microchips came along out of nowhere in the 60s and 70s. I definitely think they were a gift from aliens or taken from their ships. Especially as they’re made just out of sand.

If we really think about it, our lives have never been the same since ‘technology’ arrived. The reason none of us understand it, and our brains feel overwhelmed with it all is because much of it does seem to be designed for us or by us.

Despite the convenience much of technology has only achieved isolation and division. Our old ways of connecting as human beings are now eroding. Mental health problems are exploding.

Despite all of our problems collectively pre 1950s we were steadily advancing and doing so at a rate that coujd be absorbed, understood and we felt in control of, I have no idea how anything works anymore.

No, most people wouldn't believe it given how much governments lie.

It would depend whether the aliens were friendly or hostile, and if friendly, what they had to offer.

Also possible issues with them bringing disease - the alien equivalent of Covid starting a new pandemic. Or they might take Covid back to Planet X and be wiped out.
