Idly wondering what would happen if a few governments around the world told their people they had evidence of aliens visiting us.

How do you think people would behave? Do you think humankind is ready for that next level in intergalactic relations?

"next level in intergalactic relations" thats genuinely hillarious.

They would leave in disgust at the backward egotistical jumped up little human "breed" and we should consider ourselves very lucky if they didnt purge us from the planet so we cannot contaminate any further than we already have into the cosmos.
Or maybe better send us back a few millenia in history and technology and give us another chance to develop. ( and theres a whole other conspiracy theory for you to get your teeth into! ;o) )

And to celebrate his life, when he died they sent his voice into space... towards the nearest black hole. No one listens do they

🤣🤣🤣 Your comment made me laugh, thank you Redlarge, I needed that

CBAanymoreTBH · 09/09/2023 02:48

No because humans, in the main, are hard wired to de compartmentalise existential threat and will happily move toward emu status if prompted.

CBAanymoreTBH · 09/09/2023 02:50

Seriously guys...where's this edit function

Brightandshining · 09/09/2023 02:54

Why would it break down? People still need to live their lives..
I'm not gonna go nuts tear off my clothes and abandon my family just because there's aliens out there... and I mean there was always a strong possibility aliens are out there because the universe is beyond enormous

EliflurtleTripanInfinite · 09/09/2023 02:59

I'm in the ignoring it category, both the news and any actual aliens. I'm burnt out, with an abusive ex and kids with SEN, plus I'm disabled, so I'm getting on with life till there's something I absolutely have to deal with. I can't really run and my body would quickly be useless without my medication and I'm screwed anyway if they're anything but friendly so no point panicking, running off or making escape plans. .

waltzingparrot · 09/09/2023 03:19

They had to land in America didn't they 🙄

TawnyLarue · 09/09/2023 03:35

I just think it would be nice if we could go a few years without some major fucking seismic event occurring.

WhoWants2Know · 09/09/2023 03:41

Plenty of Americans have believed it for decades.

Highandlows · 09/09/2023 05:25

“The government would find a way to tax them if they landed here. Local councils would issue them with parking tickets and they'd be forced to accept store cards if they ventured inside any shops.

Their craft would also be forcibly fitted with a heat pump and carbon monitoring equipment.

They'd soon be quick to leave, shaking their heads and thinking they'd had a narrow escape tbh.”

😂 so true. May be this is why we have not seen them. Clever aliens.

Lastchancechica · 09/09/2023 06:08

The speed of technology development indicates there has been some contact already.

We didn’t believe we could be locked down with a killer virus, but it happened.

The golden days of ignorance would disappear forever. In its place would be a magnitude and a spectrum of fear experienced. For some people - with their mental health in tatters already it might prove to be too much. Others would feel vindicated and curious. Most would find it hard to sleep at night, but yes I think that information is coming. It will be dripped in, carefully executed in the same way the pandemic was psychologically managed.

Life will never be the same again.

Lastchancechica · 09/09/2023 06:14

Biden would screw up the speech by calling them Albanians. Harriet Harman would be on sky news blaming the Tory government and some numbskulls would launch fireworks and flares from estates to ‘make contact’ sensing a business opportunity. Telescopes would sell out for Christmas as parents tried to engage their children with the ‘nice friendly aliens’ to keep night terrors at bay.

fantasmasgoria1 · 09/09/2023 06:21

People who really want to know can handle it. I want to know but admit it is still scary as it's the unknown. I think many people just have either not heard the stuff in Congress (David grusch etc) or don't believe it.

Hopinghonestly · 09/09/2023 07:02

I dont think it will go well... pretty sure we will piss them off.

People cant even handle different skin tones, how the hell would people cope with a different species from space. The discrimination will roll in.

Not to mention governments will take whatever they can from them to one up other countries. We are hostile as hell. Id last a day before i bugger off or want to blow us up 😂

Tabasco007 · 09/09/2023 07:11

Society is all ready breaking down, we think men can be women, we're sterilising young children, and calling women mensturators, cervix havers and breeders. If aliens landed they'd likely run a mile.....

VeloVixen · 09/09/2023 07:16

I read a theory it’s not aliens but time travellers from the future visiting us. Which is as possible as aliens I guess. I agree the Congress hearings, the new pentagon website, etc……something is up. They know more than they’re currently letting on and I agree they’re building up to telling us something.

TheAOEAztec · 09/09/2023 07:19

US made contact or something. Honestly, at this point. I don't even care. It would be juat another "🙄fucks sake. Of course. Yeah. Just go with it"

Stripeypyjamas · 09/09/2023 07:21

I'd ask if they had any skills in tidying my house or had new technology that picked up my DC's socks from where they randomly distribute them

TheAOEAztec · 09/09/2023 07:21

There are some things which would make me pay attention if they appeared tho

Ascendant15 · 09/09/2023 07:33

Well based on the fact that we can't cope with people that come from another country, I'd say people from other planets would send society into a tail spin. Especially if they come in little UFO's. We'd probably set up a nice housing centre somewhere on the moon, six to a room, until we can deport them to Venus (nice place, can't see why anyone wouldn't want to go there, it's just a tad hot). Meanwhile Farage would set up a new political party based on ensuring that we immediately pull out of the United Federation of Planets, nobody has the courage to tell him Star Trek is made up, and in the ensuing referendum just over 50% of the population agree that they no longer want to be part of the universe.

AgnesX · 09/09/2023 07:58

I think that the Man who fell to Earth is still quite relevant.

Any alien stupid enough to drop to earth is still likely to be poked, prodded and viewed like a zoo animal. That's if they don't actively kill it on sight which is the default for the human race.

There still here are many in the world who have no morals or ethics to each other never mind an extra terrestrial.

SpacePotato · 09/09/2023 09:59

I don't think any beings that are so advanced they could travel across the galaxy or universe are going to view us as anything more than animals.

A resource to use. Why the fuck would they make deals with anyone.
Although if they wanted a habitable planet that wasn't already fucked, they should've taken over sooner.

Humans are so used to being at the top of the food chain.
If one ship crashed and we've been getting info or tech from it, that wouldn't go unnoticed by others of their kind.

Would love it to be time travellers from the future.

Although time travel always muddles my brain I mean it sucks if we can find out bad shit that's going to happen but not change it by doing something differently, I don't want to accept that Grin

The whistleblower has hinted at "them" being from other dimensions.
