For context I have been messaging this person and sometimes I don’t reply quickly due to working or other things and this is what he says. Top message supposed to say ‘at messaging’ I’m guessing..I’m mid twenties and he is mid thirties.

What would your thoughts be if you received this text message?

I'd think he watches too much porn and move on.

@Cantsleep1234 I cannot express enough how much viewing those texts made me want to vomit. There are better men out there.

readbooksdrinktea · 08/09/2023 08:47

"Next!"

@Keyworks I’m not great at maths so I always double check.

It’s not hard to check grammar these days on an app or on Google. Or, heaven forbid, a book could be read. If ‘your’ in the wrong context does it for you, though, knock yourself out.

Iloveavocadoes · 08/09/2023 08:48

He's thick and desperate. He is also uneducated and misogynist. Shall I go on?

readbooksdrinktea · 08/09/2023 08:49

Clefable · 08/09/2023 08:17

I'd be gone at the 'lol' at the end of both sentences never mind the rest of it.

Yes!

Booklover40 · 08/09/2023 08:49

Aside from the huge Ick the grammar/spelling would give me, I'd think he's trying to be "sexy". He wants to engage in dirty talk with you.

By "I've been texting this person" I take it to mean the two of you have never actually met? If so, it's quite clear he is a. Just looking for a shag b. Crude and insensitive and c. Is possibly a lot older than he says he is. I too am imagining a Sid James type character.

jlpth · 08/09/2023 08:50

I would think that it had come from an illiterate person, who was fairly playful and liked you.

Booklover40 · 08/09/2023 08:50

Ps. I also think it's fine to admit you wouldn't want to date someone who doesn't take the time to check his spelling/grammar. It's hugely unattractive for some people. Sorry!

Yep. It's a sign of laziness at the very least.

fettuccini · 08/09/2023 08:52

Gross. Sack him off.

SweetAndSourChick3n · 08/09/2023 08:54

Eww

Block and move on.

readbooksdrinktea · 08/09/2023 08:54

Also, I'd actually be seriously put off by the neediness (best case scenario) that means he wants to comment on how quickly I text back. Life is busy.

Zone2NorthLondon · 08/09/2023 08:55

My thoughts: skeazy bumptious git. Get rid off.
What are you thinking/planning?

alpenguin · 08/09/2023 08:55

Dodgy spellings and grammar are irrelevant unless you’re an absolute dickhead. The content however is full of creepy red flags. A demand for immediate responses and infantilising you as if you’re a child which is also a threat of punishment- those traits are the things that should have you running in the opposite direction.

Zone2NorthLondon · 08/09/2023 08:56

Iloveavocadoes · 08/09/2023 08:48

That covers it nicely

BlowDryRat · 08/09/2023 08:59

Dumped. Creepy and controlling trying to disguise itself as funny.

EstieGreenwood · 08/09/2023 08:59

Ew. No. Run.

FanDeath · 08/09/2023 09:00

That would absolutely be sufficient for me to block this person and never speak to them again.

My vagina became as dry as the Sahara desert reading that. Jesus Christ.

DongsOfPraise · 08/09/2023 09:03

I think my fanny just sealed up reading that due to the terrible ick I now have. Not sure what’s worse- the spelling etc or the neediness. Probably the neediness though.

NoTouch · 08/09/2023 09:04

You can do so much better than an old letch that sees you as his subordinate

Zone2NorthLondon · 08/09/2023 09:04

On a serious note, the need for immediacy and demanding a response
The attempt at dominance and threat of physical discipline that he couches with faux humour and an inappropriate LOL
Inability to understand you’re busy and he’s not your sole priority
The sheer neediness
I value my autonomy and can’t be with a needy dependent folk

ToughFuss · 08/09/2023 09:05

Anyone who thought they could tell me off for not messaging back quickly enough, ‘lighthearted’ or not, wouldn’t be someone I’d continue to have a relationship with. Adding the cringey infantilising tone would be the cherry on the shit cake.
I can’t really knock him for not being 10/10 on grammar and spelling, not everyone’s forte… but it would put me off a bit when combined with the rest.

Querypost · 08/09/2023 09:06

I think it's cringe to put 'lol' on things even if they are funny, let alone if they aren't, like in this case.

Even the mistake of not putting "you're" would annoy me.

Let me guess, they aren't the brightest academically but good looking and/or a high earner doing a manual job and you get on well, so trying to see past the ick...
