I'm REALLY struggling in this heat. West Midlands.

I know we've barely had a summer and I know I should be enjoying this week but the amount I sweat is making me completely depressed. My hair is constantly wet, I have sweat running down my face as if it's raining, and I promise that is no exaggeration.

School run I could cry. It's so embarrassing being pouring of sweat, which then makes me sweat more I'm sure. It's nearly 1pm and the thought of the school run and being seen like this again is making tears come into my eyes.

Anyone who suffers from hair/face sweat, is there anything I can do?

I can't wait until it gets cooler.
London has been windy but humid today. Can't have the window open because of the wind so been too hot again. Just want normal autumn weather now.

I know the OP @dontforgetme may not see this, but I wondered if you have been hot/sweaty even when it hasn't been that warm this summer.

I ask, because I used to be a real sweaty-betty, even when it was mild or even cold out. I wouldn't need a coat, bare legs in winter etc. Turns out my heart was working overtime due to tumours on my adrenal gland, blood pressure was really high and my body was burning up because of it. Summer was absolute misery for me.

If you're hotter than usual, even on days when it's cool, it's worth getting your BP checked and asking for blood tests.

I’ve just seen it’s going to be 25 degrees in London next week. Please let me have a safe space to say ENOUGH ALREADY. I’ve just booked for me and DC1 to do a Halloween trail in October and I was so looking forward to finally getting out of my flip flops once and for all this month.

Londoners - it’s not my memory playing tricks on me that is is never usually gets above 20 degrees once you get a couple of weeks into September??

ilovesooty · 18/09/2023 22:53

12© and hurling it down with rain here in West Yorkshire this afternoon. Roll on next summer.

IDriveMySupernova · 18/09/2023 23:22

It was lovely here this morning. Heavy rain and gales, lovely and cool. The place I’m working at the moment is right next to a dockyard and I really enjoyed watching the boats rocking about violently while I stood not sweltering for a change. I am not even joking. That’s how fed up of the heat I was. Unfortunately by this afternoon it was bloody hot again!

MummyJ36 we have warm days in London in October, I've known my birthday to be mid 20s I'm sure! We do get warm days but they never feel oppressive or humid once we move through late September. It's grey and windy today, very autumnal

Yes we do...I remember October half term a few years ago...I took my dc to the park...it was really warm. Lots of kids in park wearing t shirts and summer dresses. The ice cream van was there too.

megletthesecond · 19/09/2023 09:59

That warm Halloween was amazing. We were on the beach in t-shirts that day.

Smoky1107 · 19/09/2023 10:25

Its a nice warm though, as in its lovely and warm with no stickiness and it cools down quick at night.

Bonjovispjs · 19/09/2023 22:35

Omg, it's going to be back up to 27° in London by the end of next week 😲

TheLostNights · 20/09/2023 12:55

It can eff right off. Only now is it starting to cool down. Shouldn't even be an issue this time of year.

Comedycook · 20/09/2023 13:33

I'm looking forward to next week and the warm weather....let's keep winter at bay for as long as possible.

ilovesooty · 20/09/2023 14:06

I've forgotten what warm weather was like.

Bubbles254 · 20/09/2023 14:34

Where is everyone seeing the forecasts for the warm weather? My met office app is showing a high of 19 next week in SE England which is the same as today.

I just Google 'weather London' and its there. Has now gone down from 27° to 23° though for next week, so that's more comfortable 😊

TheLostNights · 26/09/2023 18:37

23c today and it's almost October. Sick of the humidity and heat.

Trixiefirecracker · 26/09/2023 22:48

God, would love it to be warmer here! Heating and log burners on!

PuttingTheGreen · 26/09/2023 23:07

In a heatwave, please don't do what I did and decide to use a dogs cooling mat under your sheet in bed.
I did this thinking it would help with my hot flushes overnight in the heatwave.
I woke up a couple of hours later and I seriously don't know how I avoided heatstroke, I was actually panting!
Turns out that the cooling mats absorb body heat, but when it can't absorb anymore, your body starts sucking it back ....or so it seems. The mat was literally glowing with heat!
No wonder my dogs refuse to entertain them 😂

Mycatisthebestever · 26/09/2023 23:50

@PuttingTheGreen my gosh 😂

dontletsaskforthemoon · 27/09/2023 07:02

14 degrees over night tonight AGAIN....14 Is the average day temp for September so Carol Kirkwood said this morning. Fan on overnight again! When will this ever end?!?! 😫

LuckySantangelo35 · 27/09/2023 10:11

@dontletsaskforthemoon

hopefully it won’t!
it’s nice not having to put the heating on

Bonjovispyjamas · 27/09/2023 10:34

I'm still sleeping with the window open and fan on, but I don't mind as it's not uncomfortably hot.

Costalife · 27/09/2023 10:55

It's warm for this time of year but at least it's not uncomfortable here 18-20c in the day time and I don't need to pay for heating
