I'm REALLY struggling in this heat. West Midlands.

I know we've barely had a summer and I know I should be enjoying this week but the amount I sweat is making me completely depressed. My hair is constantly wet, I have sweat running down my face as if it's raining, and I promise that is no exaggeration.

School run I could cry. It's so embarrassing being pouring of sweat, which then makes me sweat more I'm sure. It's nearly 1pm and the thought of the school run and being seen like this again is making tears come into my eyes.

Anyone who suffers from hair/face sweat, is there anything I can do?

Still too warm for me. Temperature still about 20C here. Fed up.

fizzypop100 · 11/09/2023 22:34

When is this disgusting humidity going to end? In bed with the fan on and still boiling.

TheLostNights · 11/09/2023 22:57

I wish I knew @fizzypop100 . Windows all flung open but still too warm. It's the middle of fricking September. Insane.

It's still vile here in Essex. I've been for a walk and am now sitting here drenched in sweat.

Tomorrow it's going to rain, thank god. So pleased to see the back of this, and to think it won't return until at least May. But, as someone above said, this is really flippin scary. I used to be a little skeptical about climate change, but something is going on. That 40 degree nightmare last year shook me to the core. It really did feel unnatural. And so does this. Christ, I woke up this morning at 3am and felt like my body was on fire. It shouldn't be boiling hot at night in the middle of September.

I do agree. There's a "chance" of a localised thunderstorm this afternoon but who knows if it will happen? It's 7.20 am and still warm and very humid. I'm in the SE and - yay- temps are set to rise again to mid-20s as we approach the weekend
It feels so wrong, with trees changing colour and autumn all around except for the weather. Suppose this came at the end of a long, hot spring and summer and it was still warm and humid? TG it hasn't

Trixiefirecracker · 12/09/2023 07:40

You all need to move up to Cumbria. Problem solved. 🤣

piscofrisco · 12/09/2023 08:54

Not a drop of rain in north herts but it's a lot fresher this morning. Still in a dress with short sleeves though!

ShadyPaws · 12/09/2023 09:43

Pouring down and humid. My colleague has put the heating on Hmm

JimnJoyce · 12/09/2023 10:53

it's 17 here in the midlands and pouring down. Still feels very humid tho

Smoky1107 · 12/09/2023 12:17

South east feels so nice today! Warm but not humid and a breeze where I am. I'm so happy 😀

TheLostNights · 12/09/2023 12:22

London still feels a bit humid for my liking and last night was still very warm. Just longing for proper autumn weather. This past week has been horrendous.

MummyJ36 · 12/09/2023 13:16

The nights are so so hard. Kids aren’t sleeping properly at all and neither am I! So sick of having the fan on just blowing around hot air.

blahblahblah1654 · 12/09/2023 13:31

It's still so humid in London. Tomorrow should be better.

user9630721458 · 12/09/2023 14:15

With the seasons going haywire it could actually snow next week and then be 30 degrees for Christmas. Madness.

pigsDOfly · 12/09/2023 16:01

I'm in the SE. The forecast was for showers on and off for the whole day.

Not a sodding drop. Instead the temperature is in the low 20s, the humidity is high and the sun is still blazing and it's 26 degrees in my living room.

We now have a yellow warning for thunder storms for the rest of the day, which will probably make no difference to the humidity.

Just want it to end.

SE too was cooler this morning now back to being boiling hot and humid. Feel drained and fed up.

TheLostNights · 12/09/2023 18:37

Was really humid earlier in London. Barely anything in terms of rain either.

Smoky1107 · 12/09/2023 18:54

I'm in the south east too and it was lovely this morning. No rain at all but there are grey skies now

bookworm14 · 12/09/2023 22:17

We had absolutely biblical rain in north west London earlier but it’s still really humid. When is the air going to clear?

Pandasandflowers · 12/09/2023 22:31

Today was heaven. Managed to have a hot cup of tea after a long time and it was delicious

Oakbeam · 13/09/2023 08:20

I still drink hot tea when temp is in the 40s. Apparently, it’s a myth that it cools you down, but I find it very thirst quenching.

Bonjovispjs · 13/09/2023 08:48

It's going to be up to 27° again in London on Saturday 😕

Seriously? Why won’t this weather just fuck off?

Seriously? Why won’t this weather just fuck off?

Yep. I could just about cope with 27° if it wasn't for the fact I live in a top floor, south facing studio flat, its unbearable 🥵

KimberleyClark · 13/09/2023 10:57

Our house is west facing so the back of the house gets the sun in the morning and the front in the evening. I can cope with dry heat just fine, it’s the humidity that’s unbearable.

TheLostNights · 13/09/2023 12:56

It really can fuck off. Even last night, although cooler, was still too warm. Now it's going back to 27C on Saturday. Absolute joke.
