Will nursery find this a strange request?

DS recently started nursery. He’s 11 months. I’ve realised that he is given a desert after his lunch and after his dinner. This is chocolate cake, sponge cake, etc. AIBU to ask them to just give him fruit instead? I don’t want to kick up a fuss but I wasn’t planning on introducing chocolate etc until he was 3 or 4??

I told my 4yo's nursery (after being told he'd had ice cream at lunch and cake at tea) that I only wanted him having one sweet pudding a day. It wasn't an unusual request (which makes me think they should have ensured there was only one sweet pudding a day as standard) so he'd just have fruit for the other one. I'd prefer they didn't have any cakes at all.

Well I bribed my kids and guess what....it helped them comply and stopped some tantrums. Happy to report that at 15 and 12 it has not affected them, they are generally nice kids who do as they are told, certainly not rebellious or 'rule the roost'
