Husband's Colleague- Leg Pic.

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/09/2023 08:51

DH 38 was sent a holiday picture of very posed "sausage leg" type picture from female work colleague (late 50s). Right up to the bikini line. His response was "A bit jealous, but wait til I get to my room".
I think this reads a certain way.
What do you think?
For context, we were on holiday too in a very nice hotel that he had been bragging about to her in previous messages. He says he was just going to show her pics of our room.
He never did. Messages stop there.
My mum says it isn't suspicious and believes him as apparently pictures like this are common amongst her 50 year old friends.
My friend says it is suspicious as feck.

Aibu:
Yes- innocent messages.
No--suspicious messages.

I've messaged her partner and it has all gone a bit quiet.

What now? Saying what?😱

ThePoshUns · 04/09/2023 10:43

As a line manager to men I would never send a photo like that!
Completely inappropriate.
It does sound dodgy.

foolishone · 04/09/2023 10:44

There's no way this isn't shady.

Sugaspunsista · 04/09/2023 10:44

You messaged her partner??????

PeppermintMandy · 04/09/2023 10:45

This thread is insane.

No, your husband is not wanking in your hotel room over a woman in her 50s knees 🙄

Why would he say “jealous” if he wasn’t referring to her being on holiday by the pool?

He clearly meant he was going to send photos of the room not “I’m away to wank over your knees” ffs.

The fact that he didn’t actually send them means nothing. Maybe he knew it was a bit of a weird thing for her to do so he politely replied in a jokey way then got on with his holiday.

The old “sausage legs” photo is such a stereotypical “I’m on holiday, aren’t you jealous” photo. I‘m sure if she was trying to seduce him she could come up with something a bit more enticing than a bog standard hotdog legs pics you see all the time on social media.

Ignore people hamming it up as a “crotch photo”…it is not.

cheddercherry · 04/09/2023 10:46

I think it’s a bizarre thing to send your boss full stop. Even if you are friends and colleagues depending on each of their personal circumstances that kind of conversation flies very close to the edge of inappropriate and could easily lead on to more innuendos etc. It’s knocking on the door of flirtation. So no, I’d not send that type of message to someone I worked with.

If he’d continued in a jokey manner then maybe you’d brush it off as that’s their “banter” relationship and they’re jokey work mates but since he dipped in with a bold (slightly ick) reply and then seemingly backed off it says to me that he realised it was “something”?

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/09/2023 10:46

I would hope someone would message me if it was the other way around.

There are a lot of thirsty people around these days. Personally the thought of sending such a pic to my boss has given me intense cringe.

If there was a photo of your hotel room the meaning would be clear, but I don’t know what to make of it without. I certainly wouldn’t be happy about it.

What? To say what, you sent a pic of your legs on holiday? And the partner said he was jealous of the hol?

WandaWonder · 04/09/2023 10:47

Why did he show you the picture?

Dramatico · 04/09/2023 10:48

Sounds well dodge and I would have huge suspicions if my DH did this.

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/09/2023 10:48

Because she's phoning me and texting me.
I don't have her number and she didn't have mine. My husband has clearly given it her.

What did you message her partner??

Bornin1989 · 04/09/2023 10:49

maddening · 04/09/2023 09:16

It could read like he is going to his room for a wank.

It could also read as he is going to show off the fab room.

I have voted yanbu due to the lack of follow up photos of said room.

This

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/09/2023 10:49

Yeah just told him there was a pic and told him my husband's creepy reply.

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/09/2023 10:46

I would hope someone would message me if it was the other way around.

You did the right thing, OP. It is simply not on. She knows what she's doing.

OhmygodDont · 04/09/2023 10:52

I mean the message is off. The fact it’s wait till I get to my room then nothing.

You sure they didn’t call/video call. The fact that even she doesn’t seem to of messaged back since either. Because I’d be very ??? To get that message anyway. I wouldn’t have left it hanging if I was one flirting or two innocent.

AnObserverInThisDarkWorld · 04/09/2023 10:53

She's phoning and texting you now you've messaged her partner?

Probably wondering WTF is wrong with you!

PeppermintMandy · 04/09/2023 10:53

Messaging her partner…wow. Just wow. What happened to the whole Mumsnet “ducks in a row”, “wait it out and gather some proper evidence he can’t wriggle out of” brigade? We’re ending marriages and strangers relationships over ONE not remotely sexy photo which people post on social media all the time?

A sensible person might have noted it if they felt it odd & kept an eye out but your reaction is batshit crazy.

FullFatPhil · 04/09/2023 10:54

Wtf 😂 you've messaged her partner?

Jesus wept, they were just playing holiday top trumps

PeaceGoodMercutio · 04/09/2023 10:56

I never claimed to be sensible.

OP posts:
CherryMaDeara · 04/09/2023 10:57

The fact that he deleted his response to her is very telling.

If he had just sent a pic showing how nice his room is he wouldn't have deleted it.

Sueveneers · 04/09/2023 10:57

Ignore these idiots, OP. You did the right thing in messaging him. She's disgusting. And she knows you. She knows what she's doing. Serves her right.
