Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

The husband who ate the fat ball. Best ever. 🤣🤣

And going back a looking way, "Is that you UCM?"

Dojoqueen · 03/09/2023 18:54

The one where the lady lived in a flat with a garden but the neighbour, whose kitchen window overlooked the window, wanted a garden so knocked a hole in the wall to make use of the OP's garden also. Span gran flew over to assist. I think the works caused structural damage to the building.

Itham · 03/09/2023 18:56

If anyone still keeps in touch with TrickyTreeLou, I would love to know how she's doing.

Itham · 03/09/2023 18:59

@Dojoqueen It was a troll.

Dreamlight · 03/09/2023 19:13

Can't remember who it was now, but one about leaving your washing out overnight and it being darked on or spiders wiping their willies on your clean washing. It while family now says this!

PizzaPizza56 · 03/09/2023 19:19

What about the one where she washed her moon cup using the flush from the toilet?

Or the one where she could see the handyman on the ring doorbell sneaking off to the shed with a random woman?

chillikate · 03/09/2023 19:24

The penis cup!!

SockQueen · 03/09/2023 19:28

There have been many that have stayed with me over the years, funny, tragic, just plain insane.

But the one I can never unsee, that has forever changed how I view this person, was the Justin Fletcher erotic fiction.

Monster80 · 03/09/2023 20:08

The cat and the crab sticks
Brian from Hull

SuperNewMe · 03/09/2023 20:13
  • The poster's husband who ate the fat balls meant for the birds
  • The pigeon who got spray painted "Brian? Is that you?" 😂
  • the poster who went out to try and help someone here in the middle of the night who was stuck, not sure how it ended and always hoped it ended OK for them!

I love Justin Fletcher as in I love Gigglebiz and Mr Tumble, that's a whole new level though and OMG that would need a vat full of brain bleach 🤣

Dunnoburt · 03/09/2023 20:34

The wife who discovered the hidden "fleshlight" in the loft and loaded it with itching powder.......brilliant!

The lady with the husband who told her when she could shower and wouldn’t always let her , he completely controlled everything, she worked for his business, she had to sit at the table with him if he took work home, he convinced her she wouldn’t be capable of training/a job she had gotten and she would make a fool of herself so she turned it down, I think she managed to get a rented house and was planning to leave but as far as I know she never did update and most likely stayed, I think of her and hope she did get away but when I see a news story of a husband murdering his wife I wonder if it is her.

She posted recently, with yet another name change, she's still with him, he's just as bad if not worse, she's now 5 years older.

He's now trying to get her to have a baby with him, she's still trying to get away and recognises just how bad he is, but can't make that last step.

So sad 🤬😢😢

The thread where people claimed it was normal to leave junk at your front door and people passing would take stuff for free.

We do that and metal for scrap man

puddleduckmummy · 03/09/2023 20:53

I loved the Wild goose chase one, made me chuckle and my husband was starting to get worried I was getting ideas 😂😂

Mumpud · 03/09/2023 21:02

There was one where a poster said she went for a mammogram and the nurse said her breasts looked menopausal (or words to that effect).
I remember thinking, that's a bit harsh - only realising afterwards that she meant when the nurse looked at the mammogram, not at her actual breasts!!

GenialHarryGr0ut · 03/09/2023 21:07

GGGLimpopo and her darling Maude - so heartbreaking
TrinityRhino - hope she is OK and living a lovely life now
UCM is that you?
BiscuitsAndBandages (think that was her user name) lovely Dr who was terminally ill.

Puffwiththegreeneyes · 03/09/2023 21:37

I'm proud to say one of my (funny, not tragic) threads has been mentioned on here. It got deleted as that oh so delightful shit rag got hold of it, but nice to see it wasn't forgotten.

On sad one I think of is where a woman had been asked by her friend to care for their children when their dad died, should anything happen to friend. Seemed to be a panicked, almost flippant request which OP thought nothing of, and then the friend got cancer or something and was dying. I always wonder what happened to the kids.

DetectiveDouche · 03/09/2023 21:46

The woman who caught her husband making love to stainless steel kitchenware 😂

WotsitsMadeIn1927 · 03/09/2023 21:50

Mainly the ones about children needing social services or women being mistreated, gaslighted and financially abused. I hope they got out, got help, are safe and are ok

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 03/09/2023 21:57

I’ve just thought of another one that really stuck with me - and like my other examples, it was the batshit responses rather than the OP that made it.

The OP was upset because her neighbours had chopped down their pear tree, which she loved looking at from her garden. Most people were nice, and sensible, and said they got she was upset, but that obviously she didn’t really have any recourse when it wasn’t her tree. However, quite a few posters were all for OP confronting the neighbours and demanding an explanation, with one even saying “It’s VERY suspicious that they’ve done this while you were away”. It was their own bloody tree!

myaheeho · 03/09/2023 22:06

There was a thread a couple years back a poster was trying to describe a swimming pool they went to as a child, and they drew a diagram. This amazing diagram consisted of basically a stick man and a semi circle to high light it had some kind of circle ceiling
Next minutes there's a comment from a poster saying 'I know exactly where that is' and naming it
They were correct it was batshit they got that from the hilarious diagram

I think it got deleted for being a troll but it was harmless and hilarious wish it had stayed up!

RainbowBasket · 03/09/2023 22:10

One from an OP who worked in an old, mostly unused hospital building and saw a woman in a place nobody else would have access to, and a patient when she told him told her that apparently that was a nurse who had died at work. She was going to find out more about this but then never updated the thread!

Catusrusty · 03/09/2023 15:46

@Christmascrazyalways the poster's username was Purple something, I often wonder what happened too.

Two completely different ones stay with me Jamaisjedors who left her abusive husband and the misrepresented dolphins.

I can never look at a dolphin the same way again.

This is the thread. Sadly the situation hasn't improved. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4677540-to-think-someone-must-be-able-to-do-something-part-two?page=36&reply=128585416
