The recent pictures of Daniela Westbrook has attracted a lot of negative comments. I can’t help but feeling sorry for someone who clearly has had issues to deal with throughout her life.

Do you find it is rude to say she looks awful?

She has no other way to earn an income so she sells photos of herself. I find her story so tragic and she serves as a good warning for kids to stay off drugs

She looks far older than her age.
She was very young when she joined East enders and like many other child starts she was pulled into a life of celebrity far too young. Who was looking after her and preventing her from falling into the "glamour" of fame or to give it its correct title, drug addiction.

Don't the BBC have to duty of care towards its young employees........?

No,she probably can't just "get an actual job". It would be hard enough for a non-famous woman of her age, with her health problems and appearance, to get a job. What relevant experience does she have? Get real.

Because all of the bone structure underneath her nose area was destroyed by the huge amounts of cocaine that she was (is) taking. I shudder to think what an x ray of her skull would look like. To get a "normal" looking nose and mouth would probably require a really invasive surgery with something man made to replace the bone, and I don't even think that's really possible.

If you're not squeamish try searching online for facial bone loss caused by cocaine, and look at some of the image results.

What I don't understand is that there must be loads of people who've taken as much cocaine as she has - why does it seem to have affected her so badly? Genetic predisposition to osteoporosis??

It's pretty disgusting seeing on social media the papers posting pics with headlines like 'Fabulous new pics/looks like Marilyn/stunning'. They know exactly what they are doing and what kind of comments they are going to get.

I read her first autobiography. In it, she did say that she has tried to get normal jobs but because of her infamy and appearance, a lot of places won't touch her. For example, she got a job in a pub, but people kept shouting Eastenders catchphrases at her and wouldn't let her get on with it.

I should add, in her autobiography, she takes full responsibility for her actions. She blames nobody else for her drug abuse etc, despite how young she was when it all started for her.

We have a deficit of unskilled labour. Pretty sure she could get a job if she really had to put food on the table. Stacking shelves in her local supermarket is beneath her presumably.

How sad. She made the mistake when young of trying drugs and getting hooked, almost impossible to stop.

Drug dealers, pushers, anyone who introduces an innocent soul to destructive substances like that should be hunted down and severely prosecuted and punished. It is hard to understand this upside down world. Our cities here in the USA are full of people addicted to drugs, the powers that be are fine with that, it is despicable and heartbreaking.

Good point.

She's talked on podcasts about childhood abuse by people in the industry (she was a child model for a time), though she didn't name names.

It's not such a great leap to see how she could end up wanting to numb herself with drugs.

What is the matter with you? It's not a question of being "beneath her". As others have already explained, she would have trouble getting even a low-skilled job because a) she is instantly recognisable by the public, and b) she is mentally and physically unwell on a chronic basis.

Go be a raging Tory on some other thread ffs.

I think it's really awful of the media to keep pursuing her and publishing photos. Even if they do pay her. for pics/info they should just leave her alone. It's horrible and I feel sorry for her.

OK, so reading the article it seems she has had botched surgery in Turkey so I don't think it is all from the drug abuse.

I saw the pics of her on a sun lounger. On all fours. Chomping doughnuts. All her breast scars exposed.

With the tongue in cheek comments. Along the lines of the poster above. I found it shocking. The whole set up to make someone look so awful - and head frying - she's complicit.

It's come to this , from the media, and her. It's tragic and all wrong.

She knows her photos attract a lot of clicks which is why she poses for them in the first place. I expect it’s her only income source.

I see her out and about in Woodford sometimes, she doesn't look as bad in person as she does online.

It's such a shame as she married a wealthy man and had a wonderful life for a long time then everything went downhill quite quickly.

As a PP mentioned, I have often wondered why her face hasn't been fixed, as they can replace hips and knees so it seems like it should be possible to reconstruct the nose. It's such a shame. I guess the hair and the boob jobs are to distract from the face and do what she can to make herself feel attractive.

She sells the pictures herself so she is obviously happy for them to be out there. These are not in the wild pap pictures. She is posing for them. Any photo credits of Backgrid are the person getting friend/family/someone to take pictures of themselves and then selling them to Backgrid. Loads of z listers use Backgrid to earn money.

And if she isn't an advert to not do drugs I don't know what is. She is apparently still on the coke so she hasn't learnt her lesson.
