The pictures of Daniela Westbrook

The recent pictures of Daniela Westbrook has attracted a lot of negative comments. I can’t help but feeling sorry for someone who clearly has had issues to deal with throughout her life.

Do you find it is rude to say she looks awful?

Danniella Westbrook showed off the results of her latest surgery after going under the knife months after a botched operation on her face left her 'wanting to die'

She is just a glorified druggie, if she wasn't famous I doubt many people would give a damn, my sympathies are with the children 👧 👦 nobody should have to grow up with a coked up mum or dad..

Horrible for people to jeer at her. Why should she be judged on the way she looks?

I don't think anyone is jeering. Everyone is saying how sad it is. The answer to why she should be judged it because she was a beautiful woman who did this to herself by drug abuse. It is worth young people seeing this because it may warn others off.

This is why she looks the way she does because of the severe damage to her nose structure. Warning this link contains a graphic photograph of her nose from beneath showing the lack of septum

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/18276374/danniella-westbrook-nose-notorious-luck-alive/

I saw a photo, I think it was this one, in DS’s science textbook. It didn’t name her, but I recognised her. It was in a section about the effects of drugs.

NooNooHead1981 · 14/08/2023 22:31

As a baby who was born 3 months prematurely to a heroin addicted mum, I can see why some people are horrified by what they see in Daniella. But I can also see why the losses she may have faced, or the trauma and sadness that made her turn to drugs. As much as it pains me when I think of my birth mum addicted to heroin and giving birth to me, and watching me withdraw and then be adopted, I can understand what she went through that made her choose a life of drugs.

Things are often tragic, not always black and white, and usually sometimes unpredictable. There but by the grace of God go these people, and I wish Danielle well. We all have our problems, and the way she lives her life and deals with hers shouldn't be judged too harshly.

NooNooHead1981 · 14/08/2023 22:32

*Daniella - sorry for the typos

Clarabe1 · 14/08/2023 22:32

To be fair I am the same age as Daniella and someone took a photo of me squinting in the sun at a wedding. I had a moment of ‘ Christ I need a facelift’ It’s not a great look for anyone but the real issue is the bones in her face have collapsed. It’s a cautionary tale to those who think cocaine is cool.

Scarfweather · 14/08/2023 22:34

She’s been through a lot, but so have many others. I feel fame and easy money is a bit of an addiction for her and, perhaps wrongly, I suspect she feels entitled to carry on living a ‘famous’ life with lots of attention.
Perhaps it would have been better to go and get a regular job like other ex-actors and detach herself from the shallow world of showbiz for her own pride and health.
At which point is this just self-inflicted?

WhereTheSuburbsMeetUttoxeter · 14/08/2023 22:37

I haven't read the full thread.

Daniella, when first in EastEnders with Ricky was the prettiest girl we'd all ever seen. Probably a similar age to her.

Quite odd looking back at the heavy fringe and hair. That's what everyone wanted though at the time. Elfin features and a thin lipped wide smile.

I feel for her, I really do.

WhereTheSuburbsMeetUttoxeter · 14/08/2023 22:40

I imagine the worse she looks, the more she wants to block the mistakes she's made by taking more drugs.

Tunnocks34 · 14/08/2023 22:44

The daily Mail are a vile paper. No she doesn’t look good - and the Mail know it. They post these pictures of her with a headline saying how she is ‘Channeling Marilyn Monroe’ so people will comment ‘no she doesn’t she looks x, y and z’.

it’s a very passive, and clever form of bullying - yet just as hurtful and spiteful.

Grimbelina · 14/08/2023 22:44

The woman suffered harrowing sexual abuse as a child where they drugged her to make her docile.

Some people don't like it when a proportion of trauma victims don't behave like prettily and suitably elegantly victims, as the trauma seems to set them on a path to violent self destruction.

Trauma is fucking ugly and bleeds out in all sorts of ugly ways. Sure, some people manage to heal enough to cobble together a peaceful life, but I'm not going to judge those who can't do this.

Surely OP works for the rag?

Stomacharmeleon · 14/08/2023 23:29

It's that time of year....
Pictures of Daniela Westbrook
Article of Kerry Katona and how has lost three stone
Katie Price... you might as well arrest me as I spend more time in court than have hot dinners. Forgetting she is supposed to be caring for her children.
Click bait.
Oh and the articles ' why do I never get asked to do strictly'
As if it's some great shock.
They all make me sick.

Yes but there's a generational split. Most aspiring or "resting" actors are young (look at Spotlight books, the section for age 18-25 is like five times thicker than the section for 45+) and actors in their teens or twenties tend to do temping or stuff like retail, barista, or waiting tables. A lot of young actors work in theatres doing FOH work, and theatres like to hire actors for those jobs. If you're 20-something, physically fit and healthy and have lots of energy, it's not that hard to find casual work to fit around auditions.

Acting has a very high dropout rate, most people who don't 'make it' end up quitting and doing something else. Actors who are still acting in their 40s or older (without having "made it") tend to either be financially supported by a spouse, or have found an alternate stable income. A lot of older actors teach, for example. Some get qualifications and do a "proper job" (I know one 60-something actor who's a qualified and in-demand bookkeeper). Some make good money from stuff like audio books.

None of those things are really practical options for a nearly 50yr old with health problems and a substance abuse problem.

I think your splaining was meant for a different poster. I'm well aware of all this stuff.

You're welcome 😊 It's a shame there are some posters on here who can't be quite so compassionate or sympathetic. I've been through quite a lot of trauma and health problems over the past few years and it's been really hard, and it's also made me realise we should all be kind, no matter how we feel about someone. Life is so short, and we can all help each other more than we realise 💖

WhereTheSuburbsMeetUttoxeter · 14/08/2023 23:37

splaining.

That did make me chuckle. I am old though.

Ponoka7 · 14/08/2023 23:52

I view her the way I view Dolores O'Riordan and Sinéad O'Connor, tragic victims of childhood sexual abuse. Yet the men who are found guilty with the worst category of child sexual abuse images don't even get a prison sentence. There isn't adequate punishment handed out, or adequate help for the victims.

CrazyFrogDingDing · 15/08/2023 00:07

Marilyn Monroe look? As in the 50 years after she died look?
That photo in the ops post should be made into a poster to encourage young girls not to take drugs with the strap line of ' you too can look like me if you shove enough shit up your nose'

Saoirse82 · 15/08/2023 00:13

Poor woman. She's been through so much. I listened to a podcast with her recently and she was raped and abused by people in the industry when she was primary school age. She'd also been plied with cocaine from aged 8. No wonder her life turned out the way it did.

I was looking at the pictures the other day, poor girl, but I can't figure out just why her face can't be fixed. Many many people have nose operations and filler and face surgery, why does it look so very bad?

There again I have no medical training whatsoever,

Agree. DW has had so many operations and I'm always left puzzled as to how, with each subsequent surgery, they manage to make her look worse! I just don't understand it...

drpet49 · 14/08/2023 17:38

I’ve always wondered this.

She does rude things on 'only fans' for money. She wont ever get any acting work looking like she does! Also she has full dentures due to drug use and her voice is whistling/lisping (see her videos on instagram/twitter to see what I mean). She tells a lot of lies to get into the papers ie: getting married/a movie lined up/her own tv show/ living in Portugal..to name but a few .all on her social media for all to see. She has to get surgery abroad as I suspect the NHS here wont do anything for her as she is most likely still using! I saw her years and years ago and she was really stunning! Fresh faced natural beauty! She has lost it all!

I said earlier in in the post that she must have endured something awful in her childhood to have become so deeply and painfully addicted.

I only remember her years ago from East enders, a very pretty girl.

People love ripping someone to shreds if they were once pretty.

Poor woman.

Won't work.

{I have worked with addicts in the past}

Nothing works as a deterrent if someone has had deep emotional pain, especially as a child.

Really serious addictions are almost always due to deep trauma and pain as a child.

Time after time.

Habreathmint · 15/08/2023 03:24

Her face shows her character. She chose her lifestyle and now pays the price. Bur like her stablemates Katona, Price etc they still have money to get off their heads, have surgery, go on holiday etc. Sickening.

Despite 'me too', this is still going on in the industry. Steps are being made towards bringing perpetrators to justice but it is still a very, very slow process and accusers can still have their careers ruined. Also papers being part of the media, it is very difficult to get them interested in publishing.
