I made friends with a colleague who was 50 when I was 27 - we're still friends now at 73 and 50 respectively.

I met my dearest and best friend when I was 27 and she 20 ( we were students on the checkouts at a supermarket ) we are now 21 years on and she is like a sister to me . Nothing weird or odd about it at all

It depends. Do they share a hobby or an interest? Are they in a mixed age social group?

As a child I much preferred being friendly and talking to/with adults than other kids. I don't think it's that weird- plus, at 20 and 27 a friendship age gap of seven years isn't that bad. Sure, it's big, but there are much bigger gaps. They aren't even dating or anything? They are both adults so there is nothing wrong with it either way.

Between a 20 year old and a 27 year old? Is there a typo in one of those ages? That is not a massive age gap at all. It's totally normal. I think it's perfectly healthy to have friends of varying age groups.

Not weird or a massive gap. Unless there's a massive power imbalance (unlikely if the oldest person is only 27 tbh, they're hardly going to be the CEO), I'm not sure why you'd think it's weird at all?

And I've just noticed the OP is talking about friendship, rather than relationship. The mind boggles why anyone would think this is weird.

No, I get on well with colleagues a lot younger that me so don't find that odd at all.
