What a pair of utter numpties.
You can't fix stupid

LaurieFairyCake · 11/08/2023 14:30

Of COURSE they're going to be Instagram fuckwits Hmm

LaurieFairyCake · 11/08/2023 14:31

There will be witnesses - they'll have recorded it for their 'channel'

Clymene · 11/08/2023 14:31

@RitzyMcFitzy - baby Dax!

They said they were going to do something good with all the money after it turned out their insurance covered the hospital and they stayed at Ronald McDonald house.

Never heard of again ...

AngeloMysterioso · 11/08/2023 14:32

How was she even allowed to fly at 35 weeks? When DH and I were considering a last minute baby moon I looked into the pregnancy/flight situation, most airlines won’t let you board at that stage of pregnancy and most GPs don’t issue for to fly forms for flights that long- a short (<4hr) hop to somewhere in Europe
maybe, but not the feckin Caribbean.

WickedSerious · 11/08/2023 14:32

Stupid fuckers.

I haven’t read it all but are they imfluencers? Selling their lifestyles? Bonkers.

Was just going to mention this!
They wanted to film the birth at sunset with dolphins frolicking in the background... she'd have been in some flowing garment with her hair blowing in the gentle sea breeze..
I and my baby would probably have died if I'd been this stupid..
It would be funny if it wasn't so devastatingly dangerous..

NotInMyFrontGardenYouDont · 11/08/2023 14:34

Basically they have alerted Tameside social services to their bat shit parenting.

I'm waiting for the Crowdfunding appeal...

Me too. Do we know the baby’s name yet? Maybe we could sell tickets for a pound each and they could choose one.

I am going for Elver because eels spawn in that area , ok, sort of close and Sargasso is a bit harder to spell.

FlySwimmer · 11/08/2023 14:34

Also, why Rodney Bay? I looked it up and don’t get me wrong, it looks lovely. But it’s fairly built up, plenty of resorts on the beach, a marina, and a water park. Not exactly a deserted, white sand, coconut-lined beach where one can ‘commune with nature’…

MsFannySqueers · 11/08/2023 14:34

Some people just don’t deserve children.

MeadAndPie · 11/08/2023 14:34

We British do seem to be utterly crap at getting help our citizen’s overseas.

https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/foreign-office-advice-travel-arrest-terror-b1780358.html

Strictly speaking, there is no legal entitlement to consular assistance. "All assistance provided is at our discretion,” says the FCDO.

I am surprised by that does suggest who you get, how well resourced that office is and what your issue is play a huge role in how much help you'd get.

In trouble abroad? What the Foreign Office will, and won’t, do for you

Besides the FCDO, several excellent UK organisations will help British travellers

CloverHilla · 11/08/2023 14:35

Wants to give birth on a beach.... if only the UK wasn't a landlocked country she wouldn't have to travel thousands of miles for a beach 😕 🤔 Fucking idiots 🙄

Topseyt123 · 11/08/2023 14:35

JayAlfredPrufrock · 11/08/2023 13:54

Blackpool beach would have sufficed I’m sure.

Yes, or maybe Southend on Sea. The sand there is more like mud. 😃

SphincterSaysWhat · 11/08/2023 14:36

Dipshits.

PuttingDownRoots · 11/08/2023 14:36

It took me 7 weeks to get my DDs birth certificate, 10 weeks for her passport when she born abroad and that was properly planned scenario!

Rhe situation is their own lack of 0lanning and research. I feel sorry for the poor baby, they need this birth certificate.

monpetitlapin · 11/08/2023 14:36

I think she must have lied about being 35 weeks when she flew to get the plane. Otherwise, if they're already out of money, how were they expecting to hang around for 5-6 weeks for the birth plus at least a week for recovery?
Also I don't think they're just middle class idiots. Look at their occupations and their level of stupidity. They're #bossbabes

Stigsmother · 11/08/2023 14:37

CharlotteBog · 11/08/2023 14:01

Does she think she's a turtle? Stupid, selfish people.

This says it all, think turtles are somewhat more intelligent though 🙄

Thisismyartform · 11/08/2023 14:37

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2023 14:30

Why should they help them? This situation is if their own making.

Making poor decisions is not a reason for the government not to help people through bureaucratic processes. Thick Britain’s, naive Britains, are still citizens and entitled to support.

viques · 11/08/2023 14:38

SoCentralRain · 11/08/2023 14:09

She flew at 35 weeks, so potentially intended to have been away from her other daughter for six weeks while they waited for the birth to happen naturally. The mind boggles.

That’s what stood out to me too, abandoning your little girl on a whim, that’s not very natural is it? Bloody idiots.

As an aside what’s wrong with Scarborough? 😂

Or Scunthorpe……, acti

StephanieSuperpowers · 11/08/2023 14:39

I'm laughing at the expression on the baby's face - it looks like it's already seen it all and can't believe it's stuck with these two for the foreseeable.

cantstaymadatyou · 11/08/2023 14:39

Skinnermarink · 11/08/2023 13:56

I was just reading that. I was wondering if it was a ploy to get duel nationality for the baby and it’s backfired spectacularly.

She flew at 35 weeks, so potentially intended to have been away from her other daughter for six weeks while they waited for the birth to happen naturally. The mind boggles.

I was thinking maybe it was a tax haven thing. You’d have to be pretty rich and have a lot of family money to inherit to do something this stupid.

I once saw a discovery channel documentary where a woman gave birth in the ocean because the dolphins would help her or some nonsense. But at least she only went to her local beach for that one.

That explains why we are so crap at helping Britains abroad then! Which we are. Never go to a country where you may rely on the British State to help you, is my motto.

ihadamarveloustime · 11/08/2023 14:40

So it was ok to abandon their 8 year old daughter, which they did as they knew they'd be gone for at least a month to give birth and recover, and then potentially another month or two to get a UK passport for the baby to bring it back into the country. Because they researched the requirements about bringing babies/children born overseas into the UK, right? Right? And would have known it could take months. Right?

Of course not.

And their version is they've been abandoned by UK consulate officials. And are moaning about going into debt to cover their poor planning and, frankly, stupidity.

You couldn't make it up.

MeadAndPie · 11/08/2023 14:40

LaurieFairyCake · 11/08/2023 14:31

There will be witnesses - they'll have recorded it for their 'channel'

"We waited for a couple of weeks and the registry office came back and said they couldn't do anything as the baby wasn't born in the hospital and nobody witnessed the birth."

Says this in the article - doesn't mention any filming ( though wouldn't be shocked if it had happened but probably refers to independent of couple witnesses just to rule out any child trafficking or shenanigans.
