Would you judge this?

OP posts:

I absolutely judge. Slattern behaviour.

Cowlover89 · 10/08/2023 16:40

It's just lazy imo

Now we have parents' evenings on the school cloud, I've talked to parents who are wearing their jammies! I'm just happy they want to engage.

@Maireas do you find there is any correlation between these parents and how well their kids are doing? I'm not pre-supposing either way, but am interested. You might tell me there's none, or that these kids are more easygoing.

It's a tricky one - to be honest, since we've done it virtually our parental attendance has increased, mostly from the parents who are put off coming into a school, or aren't very confident with English, or it's a long bus ride. However , I've had middle class parents turn up to in person meetings wearing gardening clothes, or yoga pants, so it's not a class thing.

It also doesn’t affect you. Unclench.

You need a better hobby.

Yerroblemom1923 · 10/08/2023 16:59

@LaForza101 I am a comedian but I do genuinely believe this! It starts with the lack of respect for oneself, then it becomes generally acceptable as "everyone is doing it" - it's basically broken window syndrome.

Yerroblemom1923 · 10/08/2023 17:03

@VinEtFromage I would worry that the caller/postie would be judging me. 11am and still not dressed?! If I've had an early Evri/Tesco delivery I still get dressed to greet the caller appropriately! It saves a whole lot of embarrassment.

Why does it matter to you? I frequently wear my PJ'S to walk the dog, I wear black ones to avoid your judgement, but I really admire those who wear pepper pug ones to piss you off.

Op is the one wearing the pyjamas... seems the only person pissed off here is you 😂

What's wrong with being lazy though? Everyone is lazy some times

Soubriquet · 10/08/2023 18:33

Well, looks like this is gonna be me now.

We have moved and one of the dogs point blank refuses to go in the garden. So first thing in the morning and last thing at night, I’ll stick my onesie on and take her for a quick pootle

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 10/08/2023 19:25

Your neighbour would have had kittens when my ds was little, he used to walk our dog in a zebra onesie. I am also the proud owner of a bright pink onesie.

sandalsinthebin · 10/08/2023 20:02

I love my nightwear to be really clean so I'd never go outdoors in pyjamas. I had thought that mothers wearing pyjamas to drop children off at school was an urban myth, I've never witnessed it. It sounds very, very lazy.

Slattern??? My word have we entered a Dickensian dimension without noticing?

The internalised misogyny is strong tonight! 🥴

SpringIntoChaos · 10/08/2023 21:03

I always used to take my ddog out for her last walk around 11pm in my PJs...with my coat over the top and proper shoes on. Not sure if it was obvious that they were PJs though...I think they'd just look like leggings 🤷‍♀️

Not sure anyone would notice at that time of night though, and it was a very quick 'round the block' walk for her last wee/poo.

I'd never do it in daylight though...I'd just throw jeans on!

Missingmyusername · 10/08/2023 21:15

I once bought black pj’s- looked like trousers. Not that I walk my dog in pj’s, but just saying!

If you work shifts op go for it, at least you walk your dog and pick up!

dropinsession · 10/08/2023 21:28

@SliceOfCakeCupOfTea I admit I'm probably subconsciously a bit envious because I always had to be smart and ready for going to work straight from school drop-off. Guess it might actually be quite nice to be that lazy every once in a while

KarmaStar · 10/08/2023 21:52

I've don't it twice when really very unwell and barely able to walk so put on a coat, wellies and took out dogs as they need proper off lead exercise every day, then got home fed them went back to bed.
Don't judge unless you know full facts.

Alltheparmesanplease · 10/08/2023 21:58

I would judge. I didn't even realise dogs wore pyjamas.

How lazy and slovenly of them. I bet they vape as well.

WishIwasElsa · 10/08/2023 22:29

I couldn't care less tbh I'm really you do you about most stuff. I do know that there will be plenty that say the opposite all the 2 mins to put clothes on etc. If it bothers you just get some lounge wear instead maybe.
