To not shower in the morning?

mysavinggrace123 · 08/08/2023 19:56

If I could, I would have two showers, AM & PM, but tbh I actually can't afford to do this due to water bill.

I simply couldn't get into clean bed sheets of an evening not showered. (Only exception if sheets are due a wash)

But I feel horrible when I haven't showered in the morning.

Do you always shower in the morning?

I don't shower every day 😯. (I have a bit of eczema and showering every day really irritates it.)

Usually shower every other evening, but will grab a shower in the morning if I need.

People who don’t shower in the morning do have a smell. They don’t seem to be aware of it.

I get what you mean, of course this doesn't apply to everyone because sometimes you really can't tell (one of my colleagues told me she only showers at night which surprised me as she smells divine) but.....

I know exactly what 'smell' you're talking about and have smelt it on others before

I can only describe it as a stale/musty kind of smell

I never shower in the mornings (unless it's a proper heatwave).
Shower in the evening and clean pj's.

missingthemark · 08/08/2023 20:52

I can't believe a one minute shower costs that much tbh. You could have a thorough shower/hair wash if required in the evening, and a very quick in and out to freshen up in the morning?

Nugg · 08/08/2023 20:53

A non hair wash shower literally takes me about 1 minute. Big spongey thing with gel on shoved everywhere. Rinse. Done. Clean teeth and face wrapped in towel. Dry. And off I go

I prefer to bathe of an evening but these days it's a once a week treat so a quick shower again!

SittingOnTheChair · 08/08/2023 20:56

What do you do with a shag then (normally in the evening). Do you have sex after 14 hours of not showering.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 08/08/2023 20:59

I too endorse the ‘very quick, twice a day’ solution.

Morning: super quick to freshen me up and wash my hair (but that takes seconds, it’s fine and rinses in a flash. I don’t condition).

Evening: also quick but maybe four minutes rather than three. It’s partly pain management for me, it helps my stiff/aching joints and lets me rest.

ActDottie · 08/08/2023 21:05

I more commonly shower in the morning as I can feel a bit sticky otherwise and also it wakes me up.

Motherhubbardscupboard · 08/08/2023 21:12

I don't understand the logic of needing to shower before getting into 'clean' bed sheets. They're not clean if they've been the bed longer then 24 hours. I change my actual clothes every day, but my bed sheets once a week (I know that's a whole other thread) so feeling you have to shower before getting into bed is bizarre to me. Do people not realise how much moisture you lose during the night? That's all going into your bed sheets!

Itsnotrightbutitsok · 08/08/2023 21:15

I rarely shower in the mornings as it takes me so long because I’m half asleep.

If I didn’t have to work then I’d prefer to shower in the mornings as it does wake me up but I don’t have the time to dry and style my hair before work so i shower in the evenings.

There’s no better feeling that washing the day off of you.
If it wasn’t so bad for your skin id probably shower twice a day but for ease I just shower in the evening.

If I have messy sex or sweat a lot due to the heat then I’d have a quick shower in the morning too.

Parsleymint · 08/08/2023 21:16

I'm surprised how many evening showerers there are, thought it was just me. I have always had a bath or shower in the evening and top and tail with a flannel in the morning. If I get particularly sweaty I'll have a quich shower in between. Hair wash over basin in the morning.

SamW98 · 08/08/2023 21:18

If I’m in the office it going out I would feel grubby without having a shower in the morning. I do have a bath most evenings as well.

When I WFH I usually don’t worry about showering until lunch time or even after work

Arou · 08/08/2023 21:19

Pearl clutchers will faint when I say I don’t bathe/shower every day (more like every other day) unless I’ve been really active or am grimy. I also wash my hair twice a week (gasp). My hair is curly so I also brush it twice a week with my twice weekly wash 😂. I promise you I don’t smell although I’m sure I’ll be told here I do! I also get compliments on my hair often for the record 😅 (I suppose I do save money on hair products and water although I never thought it was that minging to wash every other day lol)

in short you’ll be fine but I am apparently in the minging minority lol

IMustDoMoreExercise · 08/08/2023 21:22

I only shower in the morning.

I change my bed sheets every week so they don't get too dirty.

Yes. My husband only shows in the morning as well and neither of us mind.

Actually we know usually have sex in the morning and then I have a shower afterwards so neither have washed for 24 hours.

SweetPetrichor · 08/08/2023 21:30

I shower in the evening. I hate showering in the morning. I don’t get stinky overnight and would much rather get into bed clean.

😂

Everyone l worked with showered/bathed at night as too tired/early in mornings.

None of them had a smell apart from perfume.

Dacadactyl · 08/08/2023 21:31

I shower once a day usually. Doesn't matter to me whether it's the morning or evening.

I can also go 2 days without a shower if I've got nothing else on.

PuffyShirt · 08/08/2023 21:36

I have a shower am and pm. Both really quick. I can’t imagine leaving the house unshowered and only on MN do I hear of people that do this.

Lol you will come across lots of them, but because they don't smell you won't realise.

Only on MN do posters think you absolutely reek if you go one day without showering.

SwordToFlamethrower · 08/08/2023 21:41

I top and tail daily and shower when needed, which is between 2 and 4 days.

snowballsinhell · 08/08/2023 21:43

Shower at night right before bed

Mitchum roll on

Flannel from the top down in the morning, takes a few minutes

I'll jump into the shower for a very quick body wash if I've had sex the night before/that morning but I don't do my hair so this takes exactly two minutes

ladeluge · 08/08/2023 21:44

I'd love to get a body blow dryer. I hate drying myself lol. Always bits of me that are damp and I can't get my bra on properly (I'm a twist it around gal).

I do use a hairdryer under my towelly dressing gown instead of or in addition to a towel. But this is what I want.....
