"If they don't like barges they should fuck off back to France". 30p Lee Anderson of course, not the BNP. Not the National Front or whatever their current name is. The Chairman of the Conservative Party. Supporters must be so proud. What a statesman. So Churchillian.

Some of us are actually in paid gainful employment and can’t spend all day posting!

Was that why I was told to get a job?

It is 5 pm local UK time. Some of us work flexible shifts. Aren't you an advocate of work life balance?

Remembermynamealways · 09/08/2023 17:04

I can see you are now just pecking over the remaIns, but I will add a Labour win is not a done deal by any stretch , which I am sure Starm will be relieved about, he doesn’t look remotely up to the job, that’s if he makes it to the GE. The unions are not keen, and as they bankroll the party that might pose a fly in the ointment. I imagine they might prefer a true red, and not another multi millionaire public school boy.

He is still a Conservative peer, but in your eyes he is not a real Tory?

Is he still suspended?
In 2019, Heseltine had the whip suspended after saying he would vote for the Liberal Democrats, rather than the Conservatives, at the 2019 European Parliament election.

You are the Conservative voter, sure you will have the information

Oh, have you rewritten the rules on war torn countries and their relevance to the UK?

Yes many HK migrants are older, will shortly require care and have little money, yet are welcomed as "fleeing from persecution" thats crap, they are not, the students who protested are either abroad or in jail.

HK is full of western businesses and is even a holiday destination/stop over point.

We just seem to accept HK "refugees" yet someone escaping the Taliban/ISIS is treated as a criminal.

ReliantRobyn · 09/08/2023 17:07

There's no quim that like to party,
Like the quim down in Darty !

Crikeyalmighty · 09/08/2023 17:09

@Remembermynamealways - he was not a public school boy- he went to grammar and became private whilst he was there.

We have a shared history, and owe it to them to make them welcome here thanks

And it’s one union. Meanwhile British businesses are very keen so it’s swings and roundabouts really.

But still a public school boy sigh

Should we only take migrants from places where there is a war?
I suggest you write to the government explaining your dislike of the HK migration that they have welcomed

The HK migrants have to pay the health surcharge:

Health surcharge
For each adult (18 or older) it costs:
£1,560 if you’re staying for 2 years and 6 months
£3,120 if you’re staying for 5 years

For each child (under 18), it costs:
£1,175 if you’re staying for 2 years and 6 months
£2,350 if you’re staying for 5 years

Blossomtoes · 09/08/2023 17:12

No, not a public school boy. A grammar school boy.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/08/2023 17:14

@Remembermynamealways You are in cuckoo land- we have a PM with god knows how many homes and a family richer than the king - Corbyn was public school too and that didn't put his supporters off

So economic migrants are welcome? It's just refugees and asylum seekers that are not?

itsgettingweird · 09/08/2023 17:15

My DH has also met her and says quite the opposite. Cambridge, the Sorbonne - beyond the reach of « most people », surely.

How often has he met her and in what capacity?

I meet her a lot both professionally and as she's my MP. She does not possess the ability to have a normal 2 way conversation that requires answering questions asked of her.

She can spew learned sound bites.

One conversation I had with her went "I've read X document. It says by law that x y and z should happen. I've emailed and quoted these to the person in question but they are deflecting. It's having this effect. Can you help?"

Her response was literally to tell me she'd email me a copy of the document I'd quoted from as it states the law to help my argument.

She's a tone deaf waste of space.

LakieLady · 09/08/2023 17:17

The Tories have fucked everything up so comprehensively that stirring up those with xenophobic tendencies is pretty much all they've got left to use to drum up votes.

I really fear for the future of what was once a compassionate and tolerant country. And I can't even up sticks and go and live in France thanks to their fucking Brexit.

Starmer 'can't recall' how his sixth form fees were funded - they weren't funded by the local council. Starmer's wife attended a private school as well according to the Mail.

Notonthestairs · 09/08/2023 17:19

Keen to bring wives in to the argument are you? 🙄

itsgettingweird · 09/08/2023 17:19

Cloudy I said I disagreed that Starmer had no moral compass and it's actually something I like about him despite agreeing he has other faults.

I like lots of people. Doesn't mean I want to be friends with them or 100% Agee with everything they say and do.

I'm not a Labour supporter. I'm a centric swing voter. You keep on typing an incorrect opinion about me when you don't know me literally won't change that.

I will decide who I'm voting for once a GE election is called and Ive read manifestos.

I admire your tenacity though 🤣🤣

itsgettingweird · 09/08/2023 17:21

Barbadossunset · 09/08/2023 16:28

I still have staunch Tory friends who use "but Johnson got the vaccines done".

itsgettingweird why on earth are you friends with staunch Tory voters when you hate the Tory party and all that it stands for?

I don't. I hate this current bunch of corrupt gar right wingers. But I've voted Tory in the past. I've said a million times - and AGAIN - for the hard of reading that I'm a centric swing voter.

Plus I'm clearly much more mature than you are because I can manage to be friends with people and have differing views to them 🤷‍♀️

My tenacity? I don’t know how to be blunter. I couldn’t care less who you vote for.

You keep telling me you’re a ‘swing voter’ as if it should mean anything that me.

It really doesn’t.

So economic migrants are welcome?

Middle class migrants who can pay the health surcharge in advance - fine by me. I'm a self-confessed snob - not a racist.

Every time one tory bot gets tired another one pops along who speaks in the exact same way.
