To ask for the TV shows that were highly built up but you found to be shit?

Just finished watching Doctor Foster (yes I know I’m late to the party) after many people recommended it.

It was TERRIBLE

It should have been called “How to be a shit parent who forever damages your child.” [SPOILER ALERT] Id have run away from home too if I was the child. I usually like Surranah Jones but I just couldn’t bring myself to be on her side in this show. Aside from the fact that her and her doctor friend would be immediately struck of for calling a patient’s boyfriend to tell them she’s having an abortion and announcing it to her parents at a dinner party - I thought telling her widowed friend she had it worse than he did because her husband had an affair was despicable. What a massive, massive drama Queen! And we are supposed to believe the husband was some sort of stud with women fawning all over him. Sorry but I thought he was so unattractive and boring, he couldn’t get a woman like Jodie Comer if he was the last man on Earth.

What TV show has massively underwhelmed you?

Outlander. I cringed the whole time.

Agree 100% about Dr Foster, for exactly the reasons you describe. Am also a Suranne Jones fan.

Others that were recommended and we couldn't get past 1 episode: Parks & Recreation, Kimmy Schmidt.

Crap American remakes: The Office (nowhere near as good as UK version), Ghosts (we adore the BBC original - the Amerverdion just doesn't work).

@VickyEadieofThigh Parks and Rec gets better after season 2 but I couldn’t finish to the end.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt had so much potential as a concept and it was just dire in places.

Ted Lasso

The ghosts remake gets better once you stop comparing it to the original (and stop thinking about izombie). It's not as good as the original but I still enjoy it.

Mad men. I gave it years and was just bored.

Gallows Pole (or whatever it was called) dreadful dreadful script, was so looking forward to it

Also Becoming Elizabeth, I am still watching it but that awful breathy speaking the women do, means I can barely hear it, too much simpering and idiocy

The Wire

Firefly. I should love it. I don't.

Bridgerton. Boring and not as clever as it thinks it is.

Good Omens 2. Loved the first, perfect TV and unreal chemistry between David Tennant and Michael Sheen, but series 2 was like watching fan fiction. So gutted, such thin plots and felt like fan lip service. Was so looking forward to it as have a newborn and was planning to savour it on night feeds but was so let down :(

Game of thrones. Love the books, but got bored quickly of the tv series, it’s all just wrong.

Peaky Blinders

Breaking Bad. Watched two seasons waiting for it to get good.... Turns out I'm still waiting.

Sopranos. I've tried 3 times.

Staged. Just self indulgent twaddle.

American Ghosys improved when they had their own storyline not exact copies.

It wasn’t really scripted, as with previous Shane Meadows stuff it was freely improvised by the cast. I loved it though.

Colin From Accounts however, utter shite. Couldn’t get past the rape joke tbh. Desperately unfunny.

Fleabag first series was shit I never bothered with the second I don't find PWB entertaining.

OUTLANDER is terrible so bad.
