God I am bored of dogs

And they are everywhere. Obviously barking and shitting which is annoying anyway. But also running and shitting around every tiny bit of green space in cities so that no one else can use these places apart from dog owners. Even when you go to a pub or café half the time these days it's "dog friendly" (why do we all have to be fucking "friendly" btw? "Tolerant" I could at least understand). You can't escape the fucking things. At work we even have dullards cacking on about how they want "office dogs" - nightmare as far as I'm concerned and really if you're going to be accommodating people's personal life at work surely a fucking crèche would be a higher pissing priority. Pet dogs don't even do anything. They literally just exist so that people can have pet dogs. Why the fuck are they suddenly everywhere?

I agree!!!! And Work colleagues who constantly talk about their dogs bore the shit out of me. Especially the ones who don't come into work because their dog isn't well or needs to go the vets.! I honestly don't care about your dog or any of your pets for that matter and I certainly don't want to see pictures of said dogs & cats.

The ones who sit their dogs in their laps and wave their paws so you all have to awww over their dog instead of getting on with the meeting 🙄🙄🙄

Thankyou OP for this thread. I don't hate animals as a PP tried to suggest. People who need to have a dog for emotional support would do well to acknowledge that not all of us do. Live and let live but don't expect me to fawn over your pet

Hate hate hate just walking along in a lovely park when some hound jut hunches over and judders, curling a massive stinking turd out its arse while everyone is supposed to just accept it as normal. It's DISGUSTING. WTAF is wrong with people who are willing to pick that warm disgusting piece of stench up in their actual hand with only a plastic bag twixt skin and shit?

It's actually more pleasant to pick up when it has just been deposited.

There's nothing different about my brain, other than the fact that I want to own a dog, and you don't want to. It's part and parcel of being a decent owner.

Wouldn't want to pick up the shit of a random dog though. Mine is fine, but I draw the line there.

I saw some absolute spunkhinge facetiming a dog last week, nearly roundhouse kicked the iPad mini out of her hands

Do we tax dogs yet ? We should. £24 per month per dog to cover provision of dog bins and cleaning up their messes when the owners fail to do so, and a pot for insurance to pay out a lot of money to victims of dog attacks.

This, absolutely this. We’d see how many of the mentally feeble who anthropomorphise animals are willing to put their money where their mouth is.

Children are more feral than most dogs

I love kids & dogs but agree with this. A lot of kids are feral. But they’re both better than a lot of the adults I can’t me across.

Humans (imo) are the wrongs of this world by a long long way. My dog is innocent & does nothing out of any malice

XenoBitch · 30/07/2023 21:41

Oh joy, another frothing anti-dog thread. How original.

I have my bingo card ready. I see I can stamp out "dog owners have something wrong with them".

Not sure I've been called mentally feeble before, let alone for merely owning a dog.

It seems the research is right and having a dog really does make people calmer and lower the blood pressure.

VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji · 30/07/2023 21:43

i’ve never met an animal I can’t get in with.

humans on the other hand.

IsThePopeCatholic · 30/07/2023 21:44

I agree. Too many everywhere. I don’t want to have a coffee anywhere that smells of dog or wet dog. Dog shit is horrendous. It’s everywhere.

VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji · 30/07/2023 21:44

Get on with.

bloody phone. Can’t get on with tech either it seems

Why are people so keen to equate dogs with children?

Because as some people such as the OP find dogs annoying, other people like myself and plenty of others find screaming and unruly brats very annoying.

Anskl · 30/07/2023 21:46

Agreed.

I don't have one shred of interest in dogs. Nor cats, for that matter.

No, something IS different! I can see dogs are moderately jaunty companions (sometimes). But nothing could possess me to bend down, nose to the methane gently rising from the latest arse deposit, slip my fingers lovingly around it then turn the bag inside out and carry it around, feeling the weight of the chunk of brown cheddar in my hand, until whenever I found a bin.

Could. Not.

Frazzled83 · 30/07/2023 21:47

This made me laugh SO hard 😂

I like dogs but agree they’re getting a bit much. My children also want to say hello to each one individually too which is a little tiresome. Just exchanging the same facts about our dogs/children over and over again, for the rest of eternity. All. The. Dogs. They’re just bitter because our cat thinks they’re a pair of dick heads.

emmylousings · 30/07/2023 21:47

I like dogs generally but agree with you OP. There's a lot of money in it these days. There's a pub near me that does dogs Sunday dinners. Its human food. Their owners buy them human Sunday dinners 🙄

I agree with OP's spirited post! Well done that lady!

I had to travel by train on Friday in a carriage that was so rammed that no-one could get to the toilet, the ticket collector could not get to the passengers, and people were travelling rammed against the sliding doors. I am disabled and a kind person gave up their precious seat for me - next to a dog! A dog FGS! - when there was not even room for the humans: it jumped up, sat on my feet, drooled on my jeans - grrr!!!

Happygerbil · 30/07/2023 21:47

Agree. I went to a Designer Outlet centre today. It was full of dogs. Never been to a shopping centre where dogs allowed in stores. Maybe they are trying to appeal to the Instagram type dog owner. Not nice having dogs peeing on posts in the outdoor covered walkways.

ForestGoblin · 30/07/2023 21:47

Makes me want to vomit just whiffing it on the air as I pass (which happens a lot more often than I think should be allowed).
