And they are everywhere. Obviously barking and shitting which is annoying anyway. But also running and shitting around every tiny bit of green space in cities so that no one else can use these places apart from dog owners. Even when you go to a pub or café half the time these days it's "dog friendly" (why do we all have to be fucking "friendly" btw? "Tolerant" I could at least understand). You can't escape the fucking things. At work we even have dullards cacking on about how they want "office dogs" - nightmare as far as I'm concerned and really if you're going to be accommodating people's personal life at work surely a fucking crèche would be a higher pissing priority. Pet dogs don't even do anything. They literally just exist so that people can have pet dogs. Why the fuck are they suddenly everywhere?

I have often found that some dog owners feel they are superior people (morally better human beings) but in reality this is obviously not the case.

You have to be very opinionated to proclaim you can judge someone based on whether they like dogs.

AlwaysGinPlease · 03/08/2023 14:22

There are some very unpleasant, incredibly thick people spouting their dog hate on here. Weirdly they're not embarrassed but I guarantee that most of them wouldn't speak like that in public.

BigButtons · 03/08/2023 15:04

I have never been in a house with a dog that didn’t smell of dog. Dogs do smell- they smell of dogs. Some people don’t mind it but others really dislike it.
it’s the shity dog bum that I can’t stand . The smell of dog shit makes me retch.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/08/2023 15:13

Too many dramatic dog hater posters on here.

ColdMeg · 03/08/2023 15:19

In our area, it is the dog lovers that are going ballistic about the sheer number of untrained dogs everywhere. It's causing real problems: dog poo all over, feral dogs barking at all hours of the night . . .

But there's also a cat issue as well. The number of cats are disrupting the biodiversity of the area because the birds won't land, so nothing is eating the slugs and snails, which are now just everywhere, eating huge amounts of greenery, which is leading to lack of flowers, which is affecting the bee and insect population.

I feel the same about the rabid children haters.

I don’t quite see your point. How many children are in service as guides for blind people? Or work as assistance children? Or sniff out bombs? 😂

People smell as well you know. Some worse than others of course, a bit like dogs. 😂

All that hate inside you.how sad.
Hopefully it will only take one incarnation for you to learn.

I think the point was that children could grow up to provide all sorts of service to society - perhaps even more than dogs! Imagine!

Yes, I agree about both issues - and I am a cat lover!

Dog poo is the thing that bothers me most on a day-to-day practical level. You have to be alert all the time.

And none of the dog owners have so far answered my (admittedly tedious) question about whether they consider a lawn/park fit for kids’ play once they’ve picked up a dog’s poo?

No- not really. Most people wash every day. Most dogs are not washed everyday.
it’s for nothing to do with how unwashed they are- admittedly the dirtier the smellier- they Amal of dog. Even clean they smell of dog. Dog lovers tend to think Thai is a lovely smell. I think it stinks.

You must be new here

I hope that the rabid dog haters on here will some day realise the value of dogs to mankind. Perhaps a guide dog or assistance dog will join your family, if one of you needs help. These dogs dedicate their lives to helping humans have a better life. Then there are those dogs who make airports and venues safer for us, by sniffing out explosives. There are search and rescue dogs, who will help find humans lost or buried. Then there are pet dogs who enrich their owners lives every day. Ah well, I’ll dream on. 🐾🐶😴

It's quite possible to have working dogs without having to have badly behaved dogs hassling people in everyday life.

And some dogs need rescuing by humans.

Our garden is cat proofed and I stopped encouraging any birds in because it seemed a bit mean. The chances of my cat catching anything were slim but I didn't want to chance it! We do get a lot of slugs and snails in our garden but there's not a lot I can do about that - I have relocated some of them but there seems to be a never ending supply

MackenCheese · 03/08/2023 17:06

Completely agree @Orteul . I don't know where its all going to end with all of these dogs!

Exactly and as I've said earlier who do they think train the dogs? People! I find the comparison people are making between kids and dogs bonkers they're not mutually exclusive 😂

Gutted that a James fan could be so tedious.

What's tedious about being averse to screaming brats?

XenoBitch · 03/08/2023 20:05

DuckIings · 03/08/2023 11:25

I have found that people who own dogs are lacking in good social skills. There is always something a little off about them. Weird need to control. Weird need to be unchallenged by another human with cognitive capabilities a bit more advanced than dogs. They seem to believe dogs truly are loyal, and their best friend. Delusional.

They also, obviously, have no hygiene standards.

All of that is fine, but they should not impose their dogs on the rest of us.

What a fucking nasty post.

This thread seems to have gone from dog hating, to dog owner hating. Ridiculous.

isitaline97 · 03/08/2023 20:14

@DuckIings all that says a lot more about you as a person than any dog owner. You should probably see a professional about your attitude because it's not normal x

Pitying a dog owner is like pitying a lottery winner.
