The Mumsnet passive aggressive comment thread 😂

I was driving through a small cotswold village yesterday and there were a number of roadsigns that really reminded me of mumsnet. 😂

First there were several 30mph signs. A few hundred feet along was another sign saying 'It's still 30'. Next was 'Remember?' and then my favourite....'Had you forgotten?'

I've no issue as the fact they stayed in my memory likely means they better achieved their purpose than if they just went unnoticed, but the 'Had you forgotten?' really reminded me of the mumsnet classic 'Did you mean to be so rude?' 😂😂😂

I thought it'd be funny to have a thread to capture these mumsnetisms. The other common one I always see is 'doesn't sound like you like her very much' which I just encountered five mins ago on the thread where the OP is concerned her obese friend may not cope with the physical aspects of the job she's putting her forward for.

Hit me up with your favourites or show me your passive aggressive anger at my daring to mock this established mumsnet institution!

Cocklodger!

(tbf these creatures do exist and I know it's not a passive aggressive comment but it's such a mumsnet term).

Oh I love this one.
Never seen it anywhere but Mumsnet. So descriptive though.

TenOhSeven · 30/07/2023 16:44

I assume this is this your first child car journey, OP.

Gonnawashmymouthout · 30/07/2023 16:45

People have lost sight of what a normal healthy weight should be

Moonshine5 · 30/07/2023 16:45

People adding "placemarking" as a comment why not use the watch function?
It's really annoying reading them also the "thanks for this thread" no that's just an alternative to "placemarking".
Use the requested formats.

wutheringkites · 30/07/2023 16:46

Are you getting help for your anxiety op?

Moonshine5 · 30/07/2023 16:46

I've realised that's not really a passive aggressive move but still...

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/07/2023 16:46

Well don't fucking speed then!Hmm

You're welcome.

D20 · 30/07/2023 16:49

You just need to bake a cake for your antisocial drug dealing neighbours.

Whataretalkingabout · 30/07/2023 16:49

In reference to the OP's first comment; a great PA roadsign seen on a CapeCod beach that I'll never forget:

Don't even THINK of parking here.

Brilliant!

I'm all for these types of signs.

Not exactly passive aggressive, but I've always liked the signs they have on low beams in pubs that say 'duck or grouse'.

It sounds like he’s autistic and you’re just being ableist. Do better.

"🙄 why don't you just insert something OP has already tried or said is not doable it's not hard"

HippyPippy · 30/07/2023 17:13

I just got ‘you can’t be serious’ and ‘my vagina just closed up’ on the dog training thread because my husband and I have a bit of banter and laugh about our dogs when I arrive home from work. Clearly that 3 minute snippet of my day is all that’s needed for my whole marriage and relationship with my husband 🤣🤣

Those 3 minutes were plenty to be fair

HippyPippy · 30/07/2023 17:15

Oh I missed ‘I just threw up a bit in my mouth’ - 😂

Oh I thought you were taking the piss on the other thread. Does he seriously paw at you like a dog?

PegasusReturns · 30/07/2023 17:17

Who hurt you OP?

Gammykneedotcom · 30/07/2023 17:17

Well would I be judged if he did? 😁

Also if someone is disorganised or late they need to be assessed for ADHD
