Can I just say that life as an ugly woman is horrible.

I’m going to get very personal, so I’ve name changed for this one.

I hope we can be grown-up about this topic and no one’s going to hit me with the ”everyone’s beautiful in their own way” or claim that I have self-esteem issues.

Anyway, when I was younger boys really wanted to let me know how ugly they found me, so often made comments when I walked by.

When older I was loading some stuff in the car and men walked by and made those truck in reverse beeb-beeb-beeb sounds, you know letting me know I’m fat.

When out, men don’t talk to me, I’m not saying they have to be interested in me - this isin’t even what I mean, they complitely ignore me, talk to everyone else around us/ table, I’m air apperently.

I’m turning 40 next year. Never been on a date, never even been asked out on a date. So if anyone here want to argue my ugliness must be in my head, what more proof do you need.

Getting older has woken me up to the fact that I’m not going to have kids, I don’t have enough money and only family members I have I my prent and the way that they are, they are not going to support me with a child, so I can’t have a child on my own.
I don’t have enough resourses.

I can’t ger over the fact that I’ve went through life and never been loved.
No one’s ever cared about me, no one saw me as someone they’d (at least try) want to share and build a life with.
Always doing everything on my own, how tired I have become, I didn’t even notice it until I felt totally broken.
My cat died almost two years ago, she was the only one I’ve ever said good morning and good night to, now I just say to an empty room.
How sad is that?!

I honestly don’t know what keeps me here, why did I stay here for all these years. To still be alone.
Everyday I get up and go for a walk, no matter the weather, and feel like an idiot for doing that.

And in case someone wants to jump and say I must have depression, I just want to remaind that this is my life, had been always.
I’m just getting it all out. I think anyone would be very extatic if this is how their life had gone.
I had hope when I was younger / was happier, years / decades roled by and it wore me down.
That’s it.

Look at my photo and ask yourself if you think I'd have trouble finding a bloke, even if my face was a bit dodgy

I think maybe you have misunderstood. She’s not just trying to get a bloke, as in any bloke. She’s wants a partner.

sure, many women can get find a bloke, get laid whenever they please. Irrelevant of their facial appearance.

But the blokes who are only interested in you for what you consider your great shape, and think your face is a bit dodgey, are not the kind of blokes she’s thinking of.

Or any of us for that matter.

Physical attraction is a massive part of it though. Albeit not the only part. How many threads have there been about a partner letting himself go and OP getting 'the ick'?

You have managed to misunderstand this thread completely. It’s not about finding some random bloke who thinks you’ll do.
You need to raise your bar.

No, you've misinterpreted both the thread and my intentions. The OP is saying her issue is being 'ugly' not 'uninteresting' and seems to feel this is a barrier to finding someone.

Being 'ugly' is not a 100% fixed attribute as attractiveness is gauged by many changeable attributes like your figure.

That I'm not lying about being in good shape. You seem a bit over invested tbh.

I'm in way better shape than you and I have trouble finding partners because most men are horrible. Maybe your standards are just not that high?

Of course, and it’s been said multiple times that weight management is a key part of this, by many many posters.

you do understand you are on a thread where many of the respondents are also in “great shape” , have male attention and are also in happy relationships? You are not alone on this thread as a healthy weight person.

and physical attraction, unless it’s just for sex, for most people also includes the face as much as the body. However for a bloke just looking to get laid, sure the face doesn’t matter so much. You are right, but that’s not what the op is discussing, or anyone.

No, I don't need to prove anything to random strangers on the internet. What a bizarre view of things you have.

Agree, don’t do that, it’s highly distasteful on this thread to urge women to compete on how great their bodies are and post pics to prove it.

It's so weird! Like...yes, you'll probably get some male attention if you aren't horrendous looking, but so what?

RitzyMcFitzy · 31/07/2023 16:04

Well this thread has taken an Alan Partridge turn

It's highly suspicious. And frankly, the repeated claims of just how many photos of a woman this person has and is willing to share are not helping.

I'm just a bit surprised by how triggered a lot of posters are by a photo. I didn't even give it much thought when posting tbh. It seems to have surpassed the actual point which is that most people can improve their looks if that's a source of insecurity to them.

It was meant to be a positive post but of course people on here love to try and snipe each other down.

Yup, stole her passport too, I did. 🙄

i say this only as a VERY ugly woman who faked vague prettiness through diet exercise hair make up in my 20s and somehow got married and had kids. having children may not be what you imagine so be careful. One of My children has inherited my ugly features, fatness and my cystic acne, and terrible skin. Watching them experience what I also went through is excruciatingly painful..she now has anxiety and depression because of it. I feel awful for bringing her into this world with my awful genes but of course I never show it. Just be aware that history repeats itself often in families and think carefully about having kids. These are my private thoughts and honesty, sorry if it upsets you.

Jesus. You're the reason your daughter is depressed. How can you say your own daughter has ugly features?

Scandipandi · 31/07/2023 16:11

@GymShirk You don’t seem to understand, noone really cares about 10 photos of you. You have nothing to prove to us, just to yourself. You seem to need validation, and this is your way of doing it which is fine. But you are not helping op.

The photo in itself was quite funny or rather bizarre tbh, not triggering.

It's just a bit weird you're acting like you're in some kind of amazing shape and crediting it with getting attention, when most of us have always been in that kind of shape or better. Nothing to be triggered about, and I'm not sure what your point is.

DrSbaitso · 31/07/2023 16:15

The photo is just a photo of a woman with the face obscured. Irrelevant to the discussion but no worse than that.

The demand that others post their own photos so GymShirk can compare the bodies, the accusations that anyone who won't post a pic of her body for GymShirk to analyse is lying, the talk of how very many photos of a woman GymShirk has, the lazy misogyny of "well aren't women awful", the half-arsed negging... GymShirk, if you really are who you say you are, please stop, because that's almost more unsettling.

I think you have misunderstood again, I am sorry. No one is triggered, and no one is sniping, if they were you’d likely get some comments about your figure you wouldn’t like. In fact I think people are being very controlled.

many of us on here could post images of ourselves and declare the same. We are not. For a reason. This is the ops thread. She has a weight problem that has caused her to get negative comments. Women posting images of their selves saying I can get a bloke look at me, or asking other women to post and compete with them, asking posters to look at the image and answer if you can get a males interest does not help her.

I see it constantly on this site 'your looks will fade'. It's absolutely vile.

It's also true.

Men and women alike.

Your shoulder looks in fabulous shape. I bet you're fighting the men off with sticks when they see that.
