People keep saying I'm slim

I'm 169cm and weight fluctuates between around 9st 2 and 9st 5 depending. It's slender but a perfectly healthy weight, in fact I've known people of my height weigh much less.
Anyway, over the last few months I've had a couple of comments both to my face and behind my back about how slim I am, how people can't believe it, how there's 'nothing of me '.
I admit I'm slim but I'm hardly waif-like. I'm quite pear shaped too.
We're all shapes and sizes, I just don't see myself as incredibly thin.

I see you are 5'6".

My Mum used to be this height (she has shrunk considerably now she's in her 90s) and was no more than 9 stone until menopause (sometimes a little bit less). She was a size 12 (this is the 1960s and 70s) and absolutely average. Times have changed.

I'm a similar height and weight and people tell me I'm slim.

The truth is, nobody cares. They are just saying it/making conversation.

I get these sorts of comments frequently, especially at work from my older female colleagues. They're trying to be nice to me and it doesn't bother me at all. I'm perfectly comfortable with my size. Don't see what your issue is tbh.

You’re a right fatty OP. We’ve lost sight of what a normal body size is. Try reducing your salad size to big rather than having a massive one. We’ve also lost sight of what a normal portion size is.

It feels a bit disingenuous, OP. I think you want a discussion on how terribly fat everyone is nowadays and so being a healthy weight is a novelty blah blah but weight threads on this site are so fucking toxic and tedious that we can predict every post.

If someone posted and said people were referring to them as chubby when they were a normal weight, this thread would have gone in a different, more supportive way. People are also critical of skinny/slim people. Perhaps people should just stop making unsolicited comments on womens bodies and appearance.

They are surprised as you have the appearance of being quite chubby but when you wear different clothes it shows that you are indeed slim.

I have this with a friend of mine, her face is full and she's deceptively slim.

fwiw I’ve been your weight at 5 inches shorter and was often told I was slim/thin/whatever.

Im currently your BMI (rather than your weight) and never get told I’m slim.

conclusion: it’s random and unrelated to your actual figure.

I get called 'thin'. I don't particularly think so either. I don't call people 'fat' but why is it more socially acceptable to call people 'thin/slim'.

Do you really, really not know why it's more acceptable to call someone slim than fat? You really don't know?

I don't think it's ok for people to comment on anyone's body size full stop (unless asked) but I do understand that fat is considered less desirable and more insulting than slim.

Because calling someone slim is generally said as a compliment ,nobody call.anyone a slim.cow do they?

Yes, I do find it offensive when people call me thin; there's nothing there and words to that effect. People should keep these comments to themselves.

I was once between 8 st 13 lbs and 9 st 2lbs for a long time. I must have been a bit obsessed to know that. I’m 5ft 7

Sadly now I’m probably 8-13 + 9-2, so make the most of it.

Not quite sure what happened to me
