What if we're just some aliens class project and their presence has increased because we're at risk of nuclear war and they want to make sure we don't do anything stupid Grin

MistressoftheDarkSide · 26/07/2023 23:36

One could argue it hasn’t been kept a secret though, it has just been denied by those allegedly involved. Those who have tried to impart their knowledge have been ridiculed and discredited.

Admittedly some of those claiming to be in the know have been caught out in bare faces lies, some have plainly been chasing fame and money. So it’s easy to throw the baby out with the bath water.

But for every documented report there must be, statistically speaking, people who have had alleged alien encounters/ seen UFOs etc who have kept it quiet to avoid ridicule.

I predict a marked upturn in people sharing their stories. Of course, some will be bandwagon jumpers, as is human nature, and some will be strategic disinformation agents. It will be nigh on impossible to glean the truth.

I completely missed the Mars thing.

Hmm, a slow drip of “we may not be alone” …..

Shall we up the ante and throw a few predictions around?

I’ll put money on something archaeological, possibly in Egypt, that calls a few things into question…..

There's a whole thing about humanity being much older than we're told, catastrophic events and advanced civilisations dying out with unknown technologies being lost. But apparently it's all hushed up and artifacts hidden.

What did someone quote? something along the lines of you'd take matches of a toddler, so why do you think they interfere with nuclear sites.

Absolutely think aliens probably exist.

Open to the possibility of aliens having visited, or even crashed, on Earth, but I do think it is so extraordinary that skepticism is warranted.

I do think the ‘Ancient Aliens’ stuff is completely implausible though. Maybe fun to listen to, but proper make-believe stuff.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 26/07/2023 23:56

Oh yes, the whole idea that history has been manipulated to cover up anomalies is indeed fascinating.

My Dad is a nuclear test veteran and has researched a lot all round the subject.

One of the interesting things he told me about is areas where sand has been impacted by something causing it to fuse in a particular way that has been seen in test zones. But these other areas are not in test areas. The theory is that it’s a by-product of meteor impact so far.

There are also famous Indian texts that describe what seem to be air battles a few thousand years ago.

There are medieval paintings, of religious type, with dubious things in the sky behind resembling UFOs.

Heck, even the Bible describes people seeing things in the sky that are deemed from “God” …..

There is an awful lot of stuff out there that has been rationalised away….. but we can’t know for sure…..

How come the aliens always visit the USA? You never hear of them going to Norway or Japan or South Africa or Clacton upon Sea. I think Americans have aliens on the brain. Too much Hollywood. The UFOs are probably experimental military craft or something.

Haven’t got to the end of the thread yet, but this made me laugh. It’s the overseas destinations and then Clacton tagged on the end has just made me chuckle.

ToxicBiennial · 27/07/2023 00:49

Unidentified they may be. But does anybody here believe these objects are from outside of Earth?

Furries · 27/07/2023 00:54

Hawkins0001 · 26/07/2023 22:45

I've not seen the original but I watched the modern remake that was quite good show.

The original was brilliant - at the time! I thought Marc Singer was gorgeous. And Robert Englund is in it - played Freddy Krueger in the NOES films. He looked so innocent in V!

Saoirse82 · 27/07/2023 01:09

You'd be ignorant to think there's nothing else out there. Billions of planets and yet we're the only life form?

NoNonsensePotato · 27/07/2023 01:31

I believe extraterrestrial life is a distinct possibility. I don't however believe fat american ex soldiers who claim to have seen flying saucers etc. More likely it was just a donut lol.

Libelula21 · 27/07/2023 01:33

I understand that part of the reason the name has changed from UFOs to UAPs is that they may not always be flying as we know it. They may be breaking through from dimensions we’ve not found yet?

I reckon at least some of the sightings must be hypersonic Chinese spyware but it’s fascinating nonetheless.

i don’t understand how it could have been kept a state secret for nearly 100 years, though.

DyslexicPoster · 27/07/2023 01:41

As a scientist this scares the living shit out of me. We have recently sent up the James Webb telescope to see back in time billions of years to distant galaxies but something can travel from it? A life form? Organic? Carbon based? What? They could tell us about the big bang if they can travel here. With the tech they must know everything. Blows my mind. I do belive in alien life forms. Just look at the size of what's out there. I'm not sure it could travel to us. There's lots of weird shit been seen by so many. There's weird similarlarities in ancient civilisations but I like to think that's just maths and patterns in maths ( which is also weird shit 🤔) .

But being older than we think a a species and anything that messes with Darwin then I couldn't cope. We fit perfectly in our phylum with out near DNA. Fundamental belief in science is that life is a perfect happy accident. Its such a core belief its like religion. It would blow everything apart.

Boomboom22 · 27/07/2023 05:58

But do ancient civilisations need to mess with Darwin? Surely there's a lot of time unaccounted for maybe not exactly homisapian but other early humans or later? Pre ice age maybe we already left? So we are the aliens.

nalabae · 27/07/2023 07:20

Why wouldn't aliens exist

mauveiscurious · 27/07/2023 07:26

One of the things that stays with me is my grandmother telling me she was paying 1p to listen to a radio at a steam engine fair in early 20th century. The leaps that we have made are bigger than the last 1000 years.

We are living in strange times.

The story of the AI going rogue recently, is a also a slow drip that things are a little different

Naunet · 27/07/2023 07:33

Pinkbonbon · 26/07/2023 19:39

There's good and evil everywhere. No matter how enlightened a species of intelligent lifeforms might be.

No, that’s just humans. I mean would you describe any other animal on this planet as evil? They just play the part nature assigned them.

Tawstrong · 27/07/2023 07:45

Why isn’t this all over the papers today in the U.K.? Surely one of the biggest stories of the century if it’s true!

Think about the conditioning we have had to ignore these stories. It will be in the papers but not a headline due to credibility of the papers

Tawstrong · 27/07/2023 07:52

Interesting! You would think that congress discussing it would give the credibility they need. Wonder if it’s being reported widely in the US

Reminds me of Don’t Look Up storyline! I was thinking that would never happen… but now I’m not so sure!

With AI I don’t think the public will believe any credible evidence presented on video/ photos

mauveiscurious · 27/07/2023 07:57

The independent have it on YouTube - one of the interviewers is called Mrs Luna

Tawstrong · 27/07/2023 08:07

Yes lots of U.K. papers have it online but quite hidden and on no front pages this morning… not even the cheesy ones

CatchItDerry · 27/07/2023 08:08

I'm not saying I don't believe aliens exist, I just don't know how it would have been kept a secret for so long.

A documentary covered this (I’ve seen a few and can’t remember which one - maybe Bob Lazar or Stephen Greer), and explained how secrets are kept by only allowing the vast majority of workers to have clearance for a small element of the whole project. Release of individual snippets would be unremarkable.
Very few have access all areas. I remember it being called stove piping or something like that.

mauveiscurious · 27/07/2023 08:10

There is a policy that news which is upsetting or disturbing is drip fed to the populace. There is something bigger following this.
