To think DH is wrong about how you make a brew

... or maybe I'm weird!

I always maintain you put the bag in, then the water, then the milk and then you get the tea to your desired strength before removing the tea bag. DH just made a fuss about this saying I do it the wrong way. But surely leaving the bag in is sensible insurance against an unfortunate slip and putting too much milk in! Have I been badly taught?

You’re both doing it wrong making it in the mug. Teapot is the only way.

Hawkins0001 · 16/07/2023 23:36

I do, tea bag, water, milk, stir and squeeze tea bag, then if too strong dash more milk

Hawkins0001 · 16/07/2023 23:36

Obviously then take the tea bag out of cup

Lastnightschips · 17/07/2023 08:41

@Hankunamatata that’s exactly how I describe it! Or ‘show the tea the water’.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/07/2023 08:52

It surely depends on how you like it. If dh doesn’t like the way you make it, he can make his own.

My ILs always liked very strong, (to me) stewed tea in a pot. So when staying I just took teabags and made my own. Nobody was offended.

I make mine the same as you, but the correct way is to add milk first so that the tea leaves don’t get burnt.
