The mostly fabricated story about Huw Edwards was likely timed to cover up tory scandal, bring down the bbc.

Boris Johnson STILL has defied a court order & not handed in his phone. This should be the main headline- not destroying a man for his sexual preferences (which weren’t deemed illegal activity anyway)

I wonder what celeb they will pile on next. They are going to need a large supply of celebrities with questionable private lives in order to bury all the Tory fuck ups. Soon there will be nobody left on the TV.

It's getting to the point where as soon as things like this come out I look at the economic situation and what laws they are pushing through in even more detail to see what they are trying to distract from. Things like the gilt market, the fact they are gambling woth out pensions on very, very risky start ups, the property market forecasts and George Osbournes group email about his interesting sex life, so itvreally, really doesn't work.

It seems to me to be worth getting dramatic about, given what you’ve just said… or do you think controlling and manipulating the media isn’t a bad thing?

Why don't the Guardian and other left wing papers improve their journalism and sell more papers and influence more people? People aren't forced to buy the Sun. They buy it of their own free will.

Surely the problem is that too many people buy and read the Sun, rather than anything Murdoch does?

Unfortunately too few people buy any newspapers, instead relying on on-line "reporting".

The wife's statement very clearly does not state that huw is guilty of the allegations. She stated he is the person the allegations have been made against. Do still quite possibly fabricated. The police have stated no illegal activity, and the first alleged victim has stated through lawyers that there was no illegal contact.

It was sent about him by someone else. I have no idea if it is true and im not saying it is, but I would have expected it to be in the news given what was written in it. The email did read like it was from an unhinged person though, but that's just one thing in a mountain of fuck ups the government keep trying to either evade or Bury.

At the end of the day, people will think what they want to think and vote how they want to vote. There's no point blaming people for reading the wrong news and voting the wrong way. You have to give them news they want to read and give them something that makes them want to vote for you instead of the other party.

It’s interesting because in the led by donkeys film up thread that I posted about Murdoch it talks about how he had always insisted on editorial control in the Sun and how in the 80’s he printed some appalling homophobic shit about AIDS etc.

Plenty of evidence that he’s a nasty piece of work.
