To think Rupert Murdoch should burn in the fires of hell

Honestly, he’s evil. The Sun & all his press is the absolute worst of the worst.

The mostly fabricated story about Huw Edwards was likely timed to cover up tory scandal, bring down the bbc.

Boris Johnson STILL has defied a court order & not handed in his phone. This should be the main headline- not destroying a man for his sexual preferences (which weren’t deemed illegal activity anyway)

Murdoch is absolute scum. The most morally empty vile arsehole.

Murdoch's a cunt no doubt. He pretty much runs how this country is run.

IsThatHuw · 12/07/2023 20:38

I don’t know what the heck has or hasn’t happened with Huw but I agree that the timing is well dodgy.

Great day to bury bad news and all that.

Datgal · 12/07/2023 20:39

That's how strongly I feel. I typed it wrong, but yeah, you get the gist 😆.

Laughingstock1991 · 12/07/2023 20:39

@DuckyShincracker Murdoch had literally no position to defend on morality. None. ZERO. He’s morally vacant scum. He literally blamed Hillsborough on the people who died. The paper should have been shut down then but it’s still going ruining peoples lives.

Not illegal maybe regarding Huw but what about moral? It's all just bread and circuses really and Murdoch is the latest in a long line to capitalise on that.

And who is the moral guardian. Homosexuality is regarded as deeply immoral by many. Is it ok for bedroom secrets of gay men to be splashed all over the tabloids?

Laughingstock1991 · 12/07/2023 20:40

@Datgal ha ha. I wanted to use the C word but held off so good post!! It’s how strongly I feel too. Murdoch is everything that’s bad!

Hasn't Keir Starmer started to get pally with Murdoch? Cos that's what you have to do to get elected, you know? The scum tells the masses who to vote for. Always has done and people lap it up. Sickening.
Fox 'news' is classed as an entertainment channel as it doesn't really actually report news, does it?

yogasaurus · 12/07/2023 20:42

Maybe not illegal, but also not fabricated, if the wife’s statement is anything to you by?

Might be nothing to you, but cheating on your wife and kids (repeatedly) with barely legal online acquaintances isn’t nothing to me.

Seedy, even if not illegal.

AbraKedavra · 12/07/2023 20:45

Your entire theory of the Huw story being a conscious decision to distract from Boris, is tinfoil hat territory.

FWIW at this point I couldn't really care less whether Boris broke covid guidelines 3 times or 8. We know he wasn't complicit with the laws, who cares exactly how many times and exactly what he drank at each occasion? BTW the laws were draconian in the first place.

Same, and I’m not a Boris fan in the least. He’s not in any position of power, he’s been sacked and cast adrift, and people can’t let go. What’s the issue? The tories are going to be wiped out at the next election, Starmer is getting in, yet still people are mad, angry, rabid dogs. Honestly, some people need help.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 12/07/2023 20:48

Have you seen the state of him? Can't be long now!

marshamarshmallow · 12/07/2023 20:48

YANBU

It pains me to agree with Owen Jones on this one, but's absolutely bang on

How does it affect you?

We all have secrets and make questionable choices one time or another, why should his private life be placed under a microscope. Let his wife judge, let his family be upset. You have no right to.

TrustPenguins · 12/07/2023 20:50

100% agree with you OP.

Just wish (hope) other people see this for what it is too.

Laughingstock1991 · 12/07/2023 20:53

@AbraKedavra that’s literally not the point. There is a court order stating Boris needs to hand in his phone to the covid enquiry. He’s hasn’t because he thinks he’s above the law. Everything he touches is full of lies and corruption. It’s literally not Tin foil territory- it’s fact. And HE brought in the covid laws and then broke them when he was the actual prime minister.

Please spare me the Boris defence.

Yanbu it probably is all an awful distraction.

However if a public figure representing the BBC behaves in such way outside of work as to bring the organisation into disrepute then I think it is right they are suspended and it is a matter of public interest as the BBC receives tax payer funding.

It’s also right to question why this matter wasn’t dealt with more swiftly by the BBC

Hippyhippybake · 12/07/2023 20:54

Did Daniel Korski do anything illegal to Daisy Goodwin? Did Damian Green in relation to Kate Maltby? No, so I don’t see why this should be any different. The Me Too movement has left a lot of careers in tatters although in some cases nothing criminal has taken place.

WuTangGran · 12/07/2023 20:55

Fuck Murdoch.

EdithAndBertie · 12/07/2023 20:56

At 92 years old and richer than Croesus, I have to wonder what the fuck is wrong with Murdoch that he STILL feels the need to bother pouring his venom on the world.

He's walking proof that only the good die young.

Laughingstock1991 · 12/07/2023 20:59

@EdithAndBertie i know. I wish ill on him! He’s a disgrace!

dovesong · 12/07/2023 21:00

YANBU, Murdoch is foul and The Sun is a disgusting rag.

WhatWhereWho · 12/07/2023 21:01

FFS- the latest Johnson issue is about handing his phone in to the Covid inquiry. It's to do with the response to the pandemic.

Of course he will be judged. If papers didn’t report on celebs/famous people, they wouldn’t fill more than a couple of pages. Fame comes with its pros and cons. One of the cons being that your life will be reported on, because like it or not, a lot of people are interested in what’s going on in the lives of those who are on our TV screens. So yes, I will judge someone who i’ve seen on my tv for decades who has always come across as respectable and decent, but now it seems has a very skewed moral compass.

LlynTegid · 12/07/2023 21:01

I'd prefer justice whilst Mr Murdoch is still alive, and for Mr Johnson. I don't believe in the death penalty.
