And now the 'mental health issues' is being trotted out.

He has mental health issues for last 20 years and did a documentary in Welsh on this some time back. So that bit is not a lie.

RichardOshay · 13/07/2023 00:21

Rubbish! He hasn’t commited any offence. It’s no different to him reaching to the top shelf in a newsagents.

TizerorFizz · 13/07/2023 00:22

Speaking to a lawyer friend. He said the young person’s use of Harbottle and Lewis was telling. They are top drawer media lawyers and have represented the Royal Family. This is the first shot in a legal case against the Sun. Lawyers are waiting for battle to commence.

Ohyoudodoyou · 13/07/2023 00:22

*disclaimer:
If indeed that is his bare bottom and he actually sent all the messages to youngsters that are flying around...

It’s amusing that there are people who are sceptical he is actually in crisis. It’s true that some won’t be content until he kills himself.

I agree . I think the BBC and the SUN are going to be in litigation for years over this one .

I thought they used Child and Child. I imagine it was pro bono in the hope of having a crack at whipping The Sun’s arse at some point down the line.

Exploiting children is not a ‘mental health’ episode.

The power is why they do it. That’s the thrill.

Its not a lack of judgment. It’s planned.

Children?

A person working on onlyfan is supposed to be over 18. That 17 year old child lied about his age on the website. So if the service was exchanged, did he know he was dealing with a child? 17 year old can look over 18.

Their estranged offspring is a crack addict and you can't think of a single reason why they may choose not to go to the police? You are very, very lucky to have no insights into addiction.

Obviously I can think of a reason.
The police don’t pay
The Sun do
and the BBC might

They did go to the police first. South Wales police found no criminal activity. Just like the Met didn’t.

I agree. He was the face of so much of the Queen’s death, funeral and the Kings coronation.

To be fair the queen and now king covered up her son/his brother being a sexual deviant so it's not that far removed.

How can a child offer services on a website only for above 18?

Ohdofuckofdear · 13/07/2023 00:55

Bloody hell I'm another one obviously living under a rock.

How do people in the spotlight not realise that if they send images like this they'll end up everywhere!

CatSpam3 · 13/07/2023 01:31

Couldn't give a shit about his 'mental health'...plenty of abuse victims who get no recognition let alone support or help for their 'mental health' due to their exploitation...he made his bed and now he can s"#%ding well lie in in it.

100% this . From someone who has spent most of my adult life healing from abuse I am fed up of the excuses given to this type of behaviour .

FlemishHorse · 13/07/2023 02:07

Yeah, the Sun, champions fighting child abuse…

Huw Edwards named as BBC presenter!

I can't stand The Sun either, but trying to hold them responsible for the childish shock-journalism that one of their tedious prats contributors published in a completely different title is...ambitious.

It's no different from him reaching into the upper sixth common room.

“Upper sixth common room”
I’m transported back to an era of pipe smoke and leather elbow patches.

TommyNever · 13/07/2023 04:18

Not at all surprised that my call on this was the right one all along: "It's none of my business".

But convincing Mumsnet telly addicts that tabloid-fabricated "scandals" are not the most important thing on Earth is a thankless task indeed. 😆

Lentilweaver · 13/07/2023 04:29

I don't watch telly and didn't know who Huw Edwards was before this. I don;t think this is the most important thing on Earth ( that would be global warming). I do think privileged men exploiting young and vulnerable people, even if they are legally adults, is a story which is everyone's business. I am not one of those people who think that when a person turns 18, they miraculously develop common sense in the face of great power and wealth. From experience, they do not.

Indeed - it's obviously hyperbolic for shock effect.

61 year old married newsreader pays vulnerable 17 year old girl for explicit photographs of herself? There would be a fuss.

Was it a girl or a boy? Do we know yet?

Lentilweaver · 13/07/2023 06:20

It's a young man. I don't know about the colleagues who have complained about harassment.
