I'm actually shocked.

It is well documented that he has had severe depression for a few years. His behaviour is unsavoury and immoral in many peoples opinion but the mental health issues are not new or being trotted out.

Well, isn't that an observation. I am indeed on Mumsnet, but I haven't seen any mention of him.

I can not imagine the pressure of having this build up. If the police have decided it’s not criminal then I don’t understand why there is such a furore. Although the age of the person is concerning

Having just read his wife's statement and the police report of no criminal activity, it's pretty disgusting that he has ended up in hospital in patient treatment just to stop us all talking about George Osborne during his wedding weekend.

Totally agree. Yes, what he's done is immoral but the police are saying there is no case so surely this should be between him and his wife, not the general public.
I'm more disgusted by the possibility of it being used to bury other stories.

Awful all round. I thought he was one of the decent ones, such a talented broadcaster with that lovely voice and so much gravitas, but he’s an old sleaze to and it’s bloody disappointing.

In my opinion he's been incredibly stupid and sleazy yes- but if no crime has been committed then this is mainly an issue between mrs edwards and himself- I wouldn't be suprised if he was being blackmailed and didn't play ball .

well, indecent images are from 17 years or younger ( age of consent is irrelevant ) put in place to try to prevent grooming.

but if you think there’s nowt wrong with a 61 year old person in a position of power and influence abusing that position to pay money to a child for explicit pics then you do.
I feel it’s worth a ‘furore’.

Mental health issues aren’t a get out of jail free card.
